About the role: 

In this position, you will be part of the Finance & Accounting Team, reporting to our Payroll Manager. You will work closely with the HR Team and be responsible for accurate and timely payroll delivery across multiple locations. This role provides support to the Finance Team, HR Team, Employees, and external parties on payroll related queries.  

Your contribution will be:  

Payroll processing: 

  • Responsible for end-to-end payroll cycle for our US, Canadian & Dubai entities (in-house payroll processing) 
  • Additional payrolls may be assigned as the company grows and evolves, and may include payrolls in AMER, EMEA or APAC regions.  
  • Depending on location, process payroll in-house or work with external payroll providers and HR organization to deliver monthly and/or semi-monthly, multi-state payrolls 
  • Manage payroll taxes, superannuation, pensions, workers compensation reporting and employee benefits/reconciliations. 
  • Manage year-end payroll reporting & payroll statutory fillings. 
  • Manage leave systems 
  • Manage payroll on-boarding & off-boarding of employees 
  • Liaise with HR team regarding new hires, terminations, leaves, remuneration and conditions of service including interpreting awards/agreements in relation to tax, allowances and other pay and benefit components 
  • Handle employee queries and escalations 
  • Manage 401k annual true up accrual, reconciliation and funding 

Payroll accounting: 

  • Manage all payroll-related journal entries for processing in our accounting system 
  • Manage payroll-related accruals and balance sheet reconciliations 
  • Work with Finance & Accounting team on payroll related analyses for budgeting and reporting 

Audit: 

  • Manage general payroll audit queries 
  • Manage the 401k audit, delegate audit requests, between various team members, ensure everything is timely turned into the 401k auditors. 

General 

  • Be the backup for payroll for our international entities, as required  
  • Integrate payroll following merger & acquisitions, as required 
  • Assist with payroll-related projects, as required 
  • Independently and proactively analyze, assess and resolve issues in creative and efficient ways.  
  • Suggest and work on various solutions and process improvements 
  • Enhance relationship and collaboration with internal and external teams.  

To be successful, we think you need:  

  • At least 5 years’ experience in processing payroll, preferably for a global company 
  • Expertise in US and Canadian payroll processing, as well as payroll tax legislation and practices. 
  • Expertise in processing payroll in-house on UKG 
  • Advanced experience in payroll accounting, including payroll journals and accruals.  
  • Experience with international payrolls, including payroll processing via third party payroll providers 
  • High integrity, discretion, and attention to detail. 
  • Experience in high growth & Scaling tech environments 
  • Outstanding analytical, problem solving, communication & prioritization skills
