What's the opportunity? 🤔

It’s an exciting time to join the People Org - we are building a new People Analytics Strategy, and we are committed to using data insights to continuously improve decisions, identify opportunities around employee experience, optimise engagement, and become deeply aligned with business priorities.

In this position, you will partner with People teams and Business Leaders across Intercom to measure new initiatives and make data-driven recommendations around People programs and strategy. In addition to being experienced analytically, we’re looking for someone who can proactively surface recommendations and insights, who's comfortable prioritising work across multiple stakeholders, and who can work across our technology stack in order to solve problems. If this sounds like you, we would love to hear from you!

What will I be doing? 🚀
  • You’ll be excited to build something new, joining up our various data flows to identify and build efficient methods to organise, store and analyse data
  • Connecting people data with business goals in order to drive business value
  • Presenting data in engaging ways, building charts, visualisations, dashboards and reports for senior leadership
  • You’ll need to be deeply analytical, with ownership over data quality and health
  • You’ll formulate techniques for quality data collection, and implement secure processes for data management
  • Partner with People teams at Intercom to help them better understand their functional areas, build understanding and use of our data, and set a high bar for leveraging analytics across the People organisation
  • Automate recurring tasks and explore potential investigation opportunities and data models via relevant programming language Python and/or R.
What skills do I need? 📖

We recognise that sometimes these lists can appear as strict requirements, but that’s not the case. Even if you feel you have a subset of the experience below - that’s ok, we’d love to talk to you!

  • Deep knowledge of data hygiene, including cleaning and automating data processes
  • Excellent SQL skills, fluency with BI/visualization tools, and deep knowledge of Excel, R, Python, or other analysis tools
  • Minimum of 2-3 years experience in quantitative role, preferably in People data and analytics
  • Excellent understanding of data administration and management functions (collection, analysis, distribution etc.)
  • You’ll be a creative thinker about data, not afraid to innovate in order to create compelling narratives
  • You’ll have a strong understanding of how to measure engagement and insights
  • A proven track record of initiating and delivering actionable analyses/recommendations in order to drive business impact
  • Excellent communication skills, including experience in high-level business discussions
  • Leverage new tools, processes, and methodologies to interpret data and analyze results using statistical techniques on an ad hoc and recurring basis.
