The Lyft Urban Solutions (LUS) Policy team is hiring an experienced Policy and Government Manager. They will be an instrumental member of the Lyft team in charting strategic growth opportunities in new and current cities where Lyft provides bikeshare hardware, software and/or operations, developing new local partnerships, and interfacing directly with local, regional and national partners. The Senior Manager, who reports into Lyft’s Director of Micromobility Policy, will be dealing with regulatory and government issues as a pivotal part of Lyft’s mission to eliminate private car ownership and foster public policies that reclaim streets for people. Responsibilities:- Represent Lyft in all interactions with elected officials, government officials and staff via face-to-face meetings, events and remote lobbying.
- Engage with cities and other government stakeholders to shape their approach to micromobility procurements.
- Work with trade associations and advocacy organizations to create a regulatory landscape supportive of station-based micromobility across the world.
- Attend high profile events with key elected or appointed leaders in person.
- Track legislation relevant to Lyft at municipal, county and state levels by working with our Legislative Affairs team and engaging elected officials directly.
- Craft ideal regulatory frameworks and lead efforts to win local bikeshare and scootershare adoption
- Work cross-functionally with Lyft senior management on developing public policy priorities that advance Lyft’s operations and business interests.
- Work closely with Lyft’s operations, business, finance, legal, marketing, and communications teams on developing market strategy
- Manage a team of top-notch external policy consultants to schedule face-to-face meetings with elected officials, track legislation and carry out lobbying campaigns in service of business priorities
- 7+ years of experience in policy, government affairs, campaigns, and/or business development.
- Strong existing transportation, government, and advocacy relationships.
- Proven entrepreneurial and scrappy spirit
- Exceptional strategic and problem-solving skills
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, demanding (and sometimes unstructured) environment. You can prioritize and execute while maintaining long-term strategic focus.
- Self-starter; intrinsically motivated but also a good teammate

- A love of travel (lots of travel, often last-minute)
- Excellent communication skills (written, verbal and presentation) - you know how to tell a good story and advocate your position
- Fluencing in Spanish a plus

This role will be in-office on a hybrid schedule — Team Members will be expected to work in the office 3 days per week on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays. The expected base pay range for this position in the San Francisco area is $169,000 - $211,250. Salary ranges are dependent on a variety of factors, including qualifications, experience and geographic location. Range is not inclusive of potential equity offering, bonus or benefits.
