Overview

Okta is revolutionizing how consumers securely store and access their digital lives. We are looking for a Senior Product Designer to join our team and help bring this vision to life. In this role, you’ll collaborate with designers, engineers, product managers, and researchers to design intuitive, user-friendly solutions to complex problems. Whether you’re crafting functional experiences or exploring innovative approaches to new challenges, you’ll play a critical role in shaping the future of consumer identity management.

Responsibilities

• Lead a human-centered design approach to create seamless and impactful user experiences.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver new features and products.
• Design user flows, wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity visuals for web and mobile applications.
• Partner with researchers to gain insights and validate design solutions.
• Advocate for design consistency and quality across the Okta Personal product ecosystem.
• Explore and present multiple solutions to problems before committing to a final version.
• Produce mockups, concepts, and prototypes to communicate ideas effectively.
• Support engineers during implementation by providing design assets and guidance.
• Stay informed on competitor products, design trends, and emerging technologies.
• Present your work regularly to stakeholders, incorporating feedback to refine and improve designs.

Who We Are Looking For

• You have experience designing digital consumer products in fast-paced startup or growth-stage environments.
• You thrive in collaborative settings and build strong partnerships with cross-functional teams.
• You are passionate about applying UX principles to create cohesive, high-quality user experiences.
• You demonstrate empathy for users, deeply understanding their needs and pain points.
• You are comfortable working in ambiguity and can balance exploration with delivering practical, user-centric designs.
• You have a strong appreciation for visual design and systems thinking.
• You can quickly create prototypes to bring ideas to life and validate concepts.
• You excel at storytelling and presenting your work to diverse audiences.
• You stay curious and continuously explore new tools, techniques, and design trends.

Qualifications

• Degree in a relevant field or equivalent work experience.
• 5 + years in product design
• Proficient in design tools like Figma and Miro.
• Demonstrated ability to tackle complex design challenges and produce high-quality deliverables.
• A digital portfolio showcasing your work on consumer-facing products, including end-to-end design processes. (Portfolio link required with application.)
• Strong visual design and interaction design skills.

About the Team

You’ll report to the Director of Product Design for Okta Personal and work on consumer-facing products, including our web and mobile apps and browser extension. Our team is dedicated to creating simple, intuitive solutions for managing personal digital identities while advancing Okta’s vision to “accelerate a world where everyone can safely use any technology.”

Below is the annual salary range for candidates located in Canada. Your actual salary will depend on factors such as your skills, qualifications, and experience.
