Senior Product Designer, Rider Behavior
At Lyft, our mission is to improve people’s lives with the world’s best transportation. To do this, we start in our own community by creating an open, inclusive, and diverse organization.
Lyft connects people to transportation to change the way we live and get around our communities. Lyft is North America’s leader in micromobility. We provide the software that powers BIXI, and we own and/or operate bikeshare in New York (Citi Bike), Chicago (Divvy), San Francisco (Bay Wheels), Portland (Biketown), Boston (BlueBikes), and DC (Capital Bikeshare). Our software is used in over 45 markets to power bike and scooter systems, increasing our reach beyond the markets we operate directly.
We are looking for a passionate Product Designer to join our Montreal office to work on Lyft’s Transit Bikes and Scooter’s platform on the Rider team.
As a member of the Rider design team, you’ll be responsible for helping evolve our platform to be easily scalable across our owned, operated, and B2B markets. You will design new features that maximize the health and reliability of our micromobility systems, while always aiming to deliver the best possible experience to our riders.
Our Montreal office developed the first automated bikes-share system in North America and continues to work on the platform today that provides state-of-the-art electric bikes and scooters for tens of millions of rides per year.
As a product designer at Lyft, you will be involved at every step of product development, from brainstorming broad ideas to ensuring design quality through launch. Using your full range of interaction, visual, and product thinking skills. As a product designer on the Transit, Bikes and Scooters team you will own the design of features within the core rider experience for our bike and scooter riders, within the Lyft app and our market specific apps.
In a lot of ways, we function as a startup, meaning we all work closely and collaboratively across organizations to align on product vision and ship products. Our Design and Research teams live and breathe a user-centered process to create the best possible, end-to-end, experience for millions of Passengers and Drivers daily. We can be scrappy when we need to be, though we are always focused on quality and influence.
As a qualified candidate, you have a track record of leading projects to successful outcomes for users and the business. You are a strong cross-functional partner, a great communicator, and are able to take a solution from idea to implementation. You uphold a high-quality bar and have a strong appreciation for the details. Above all, you approach problems holistically and create elegantly simple solutions to multi-faceted problems.
