Senior Product Manager - Global Payments
SumUp is a FinTech player on a mission to support merchants to be successful doing what they love - all over the world. Our community is made up of thousands of talented people and we are looking for a Senior Product Manager to enable us to grow our business on a global scale. Our team is in charge of defining strategy and delivering products and services for our target markets. We leverage all product features built within SumUp and adjust and localise them for new markets using our acquiring and banking partners – from a merchant’s first user experience in our app, to making their first sale, to receiving their first payout.
This role is a high impact, critical position that will challenge you to work at a quick pace and tackle a wide variety of topics and opportunities on a global scale. You will use your strategic thinking and original mindset, as well as immense drive, to help strategize and innovate within the team that is responsible for launching and growing new markets across the globe as part of a fast paced and rapidly scaling organization.

What you’ll do
- Work as part of a cross-functional team to create the necessary tools and technical framework to enable SumUp to launch in new markets quickly and efficiently
- Take charge of coordinating our country launch system setup activities on a tribe and cross-tribe level
- Build an expansion platform that allows us to tackle internationalization, customisation, and country-specific regulatory challenges
- Design and build acquiring and settlement platforms that satisfy various business requirements and user needs; drive testing, implementation, and post-production support
- Gather requirements and scope projects, facilitate discussions and drive resolution of issues
You’ll be great for this position if
- You have relevant experience in Product Management and experience with integrations in the Payments Industry
- You have a solid track record in incremental software development with a focus on value
- You have experience with country expansion or localisation projects within the payment industry
- You have experience in aligning and uniting a diverse group of stakeholders to agree on priorities and work towards the same direction
- You have experience in working closely with software development teams in a product owner/project manager role, thus navigating complex organisations and systems motivate you
- You are easily able to build relationships, adopt fast for change and you have a great appetite for defining user problems and help solving them
Any of the following are considered a plus
- You have knowledge in payment authorization and clearing systems.
- You have an understanding of financial transaction standards (ISO8583/ ISO 20022).
- You’ve successfully completed an EMV certification.
