About the Role

Product Managers at MongoDB work side-by-side with design, engineering, marketing, and analytics to develop solutions that our users love and that work for the business. You’ll spend your time deeply understanding customer problems, developing hypotheses, and validating them with design solutions. If you’re doing well, you will continuously be accelerating the rate at which our users learn, build, and deliver their products.

We are looking to speak to candidates who are based in San Francisco for our hybrid working model.

Responsibilities
  • Lead the team to the right product decisions via deep engagement with Customers, Prospects, Engineering, Design, Marketing, Executive Leadership, Sales, and Market analysis 
  • Advocate for our customers with a passion for performance, usability, security and durability
  • Team with Sales, Technical Support and related groups as a strategic partner in customer engagements, able to clearly articulate MongoDB features, functionality and value  
  • Provide an unparalleled customer experience by conceiving and driving new features, marketing programs, customer surveys, partnerships, pricing, and technical documentation
  • Drive execution against your plan; making trade-offs, anticipating needs, evaluating risks, and ensuring frequent and clear communication
  • Be passionate about the data around your products, ensuring business impact can be measured and used to continually hone products towards excellence  
Requirements
  • 5+ years of product management or equivalent experience with a complex technical product
  • Experience and demonstrated success in delivering software products to market
  • Hands-on expertise with enterprise data backup, recovery, and data resilience solutions
  • Deep understanding of the various backup vendors and their backup and data resilience offerings 
  • Adept at navigating open-ended questions and able to communicate complex technical issues simply and convincingly to a wide range of audiences
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal, enabling you to bridge gaps and bring multiple stakeholders toward the best solution via well researched and written business cases 
  • Self-starter who enjoys challenges across a broad range of technical subject areas, with a strong bias to action
  • Familiarity with open source and various other cloud technologies
  • B.Sc. in a technical discipline, Computer Science preferred; M.Sc. in the relevant domain a plus
Nice to have
  • Database experience - MongoDB experience is a plus 
  • Comfortable with stage presence and frequent public speaking
  • Community support and participation such as conference or meetup panels and blog or paper authorship
  • Last, but not least, desire to take an active role in innovation

Compensation at the time of offer is unique to each candidate and based on a variety of factors such as skill set, experience, qualifications, and work location. Salary is one part of MongoDB’s total compensation and benefits package. Other benefits for eligible employees may include: equity, participation in the employee stock purchase program, flexible paid time off, 20 weeks fully-paid gender-neutral parental leave, fertility and adoption assistance, 401(k) plan, mental health counseling, access to transgender-inclusive health insurance coverage, and health benefits offerings. MongoDB’s base salary range for this role in the U.S. is:$118,000—$231,000 USD
