Senior Product Manager, Finance
The Viator Platform Product team is seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Senior Product Manager to lead the team on solving the complex underlying Finance problems & opportunities. You will be part of a dynamic, fun, and energetic team where you can immediately make meaningful contributions and grow as a Product Manager.
As a Senior Product Manager, you will set the vision for our Finance platform, establish and execute a roadmap that advances us toward your vision while meeting the needs of multiple stakeholders across the company: Engineering, Product, Marketing, Finance, Trust & Safety and Legal. You will own and develop a complex and integral billing platform, financial reporting, as well as our payout platform which disburses payments to thousands of small & large businesses every month in multiple currencies, core to the Viator and Tripadvisor business. You will serve as a product evangelist and subject matter expert for internal and external teams, including various Viator business units and partners.

In this role you will help define and shape the overall Finance platform function, providing our Finance teams with tooling and capabilities that enable them to efficiently manage the $bns that flow in and out of Viator & Tripadvisor annually. Responsibilities
- Define and own the Billing and Financial reporting (and Payout platforms)
- Manage and optimize enterprise billing processes
- Create and optimize sales tax processes globally, along with supporting/driving DST requirements
- Provide comprehensive financial reporting to support strategic decision-making
- Implement advanced self serve tooling for Finance teams to efficiently manage caseloads
- Oversee merchant billing processes for Viator transactions
- Efficiently handle exchange rates, defining new and cost effective strategies
- Evaluate existing tooling and make recommendations to better manage billing/invoicing/remittance for Viator merchants to support the business scaling
- Forge strong relationships with internal teams, including Engineering, Product, Marketing, Finance and Legal, and external partners, leveraging their offerings and expertise to increase the value of our platform.
- Partner with the Finance department to materially improve cash flow & routing opportunities. Understand business stakeholder needs, and translate them into product requirements
- Develop business cases that drive efficiency, including evaluating and recommending implementation options.
- Develop specs for engineering teams to implement. Collaborate with various engineering teams to ensure stakeholder requirements are fully understood and the product/feature is built per the specifications.
- Set prioritization, including managing the backlog.
- Serve as a product evangelist and subject matter expert across the company for Platform, providing guidance and knowledge transfer as needed.
- Facilitate the creation and maintenance of proper product documentation.
- Assess emerging products and policies to measure their potential value or threat to the company and its products, and make recommendations for which new technologies to invest in or leverage.
Required Skills/Experience
- 5+ years product management experience, of which 2+ years include product management within a marketplace and/or complex billing and accounting products at scale.
- Deep understanding of the complicated regulatory and commercial environment around payments.
- Good understanding of APIs and best practices for creating and sharing REST APIs; experience calling an API is desirable.
- Exceptional attention to detail, strategic thinking and stakeholder management.
- Affinity for simplifying complex regulatory and financial requirements into crisp, executable plans.
- Strong ability to rapidly identify, communicate and resolve technical issues with multiple engineering teams and business stakeholders.
- Tenacious with a strong sense of ownership, working quickly and effectively under pressure and time constraints with minimal guidance.
- Excellent communication, and comfort communicating at all levels in the organization.
- Excellent writing and documentation.
