Want to help us help others?

GoFundMe is a global community built to help people help each other. We’re on a mission to make it safe and easy for people to ask for help—and get it. Our vision is to be the most helpful place in the world. Together with Classy, we’ve helped raise over $25 billion for people and organizations since 2010.

We’re looking for a Senior Program Manager to join our Program & Portfolio team, aligned with our Design organization to drive clarity, coordination, and impact across high-priority initiatives. This role is equal parts program leadership and creative operations—you’ll help teams move from insight to execution while improving how design connects to the rest of the business.

This role isn’t about traffic-checking or managing Jira boards—it’s about bringing structure to ambiguity, building the connective tissue between teams, and enabling product and design to execute faster, better, and more aligned.

Candidates considered for this role will be located in the San Francisco, Bay Area. There will be an in-office requirement of 3x a week.

The Job

  • Lead complex, cross-functional programs spanning design, product, engineering, marketing, brand, and research—ensuring initiatives ship on time, at high quality, and with measurable outcomes.
  • Own program execution from kickoff to launch: define scope, align timelines, manage dependencies, surface risks, and unblock teams proactively.
  • Bring clarity and structure to ambiguous or creative workstreams—helping teams break vision into actionable phases, milestones, and success criteria.
  • Drive shared visibility through clear documentation, updates, dashboards, and rituals that keep stakeholders aligned and empowered.
  • Partner deeply with Design and Product leadership to prioritize initiatives, map dependencies, and evolve planning and decision-making processes.
  • Continuously improve how we operate, helping build and scale lightweight, repeatable practices across the design org (resourcing, roadmapping, rituals, planning).
  • Create connective tissue across squads, ensuring design work lands well in product, brand, and go-to-market moments.

You

  • 5+ years of experience in program, project, or operations roles—ideally in product-led companies with strong design and product teams.
  • Have worked closely with designers, researchers, and cross-functional teams, and understand how design functions operate at scale.
  • Comfortable managing creative and technical workstreams, with strong instincts on when to adapt process versus enforce it.
  • Skilled at execution and operations—from planning cycles and milestone tracking to risk mitigation and change management.
  • Skilled in navigating ambiguity—you bring order to chaos, distill complexity, and adapt as plans evolve.
  • Confident communicator—comfortable writing crisp updates, leading program reviews, and translating ambiguity into clear next steps.
  • Naturally collaborative; you influence without authority and align stakeholders across orgs and disciplines.
  • Calm in ambiguity, proactive in chaos. You create momentum even when the path isn’t fully defined.
  • You proactively surface risks and flags early and help teams course-correct with minimal disruption.
  • You bring clarity to complex programs, making them understandable and actionable across stakeholders.
  • Deeply mission-aligned: you care about making the world more generous, inclusive, and connected through your work.

Preferred

  • Have experience standing up or evolving DesignOps or CreativeOps functions.
  • Have supported global or distributed design teams.
  • Are familiar with tools like Figma, FigJam, Lucid, Jira, ClickUp, Confluence, Amplitude, and Google Suite.
  • Have exposure to both B2C and B2B environments—especially in social impact or nonprofit-focused spaces.
