YOUR MISSION AT VOI

The Senior Public Policy Manager, UK will build and develop highly effective, trusted and resilient relationships with MPs, local authority councillors, policymakers, regulators and public transport authorities, universities and partner organistions. These relationships are critical to cementing and growing Voi’s position as the

The next 12 months will be an exciting time at Voi due to a new government being in place and the growing interest from cities and those within the industry to progress legislation. Long-promised legislation is needed to provide long-term certainty for rental e-scooters as well as provide regulatory powers for cities to manage rental e-bikes. In addition, a number of cities are expected to introduce shared micromobility programmes of their own and Voi is keen that they choose us as the leading provider. If successful with your application you would be progressing legislation, expanding to new cities, exploring partnership opportunities, and ensuring stakeholders know of the exciting initiatives underway across Voi communities.

  • Represent Voi in government and other stakeholder meetings, acting as one of Voi’s policy relationship holders for UK cities e.g. London, etc.
  • Develop and own stakeholder management, policy position papers and other communications content.
  • Seek out and deliver strategic partnerships to advance sustainable transport alternatives.
  • Support Voi’s market development activities by engaging cities on the opportunities of shared micromobility including e-bikes and e-scooters.
  • Lead tender bids and written submissions.
  • Act as a nominated spokesperson for Voi in the media and public facing events.
  • Monitor and navigate the regulatory environment, identifying and engaging with core stakeholders.

WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO EMBARK

At Voi, you’ll come across new opportunities regularly. We’re operating in uncharted territory. Having proven previous experience and a record of problem solving will prove valuable along the way.

Required

  • 6+ years of experience working in close, regular contact with a range of stakeholders, and managing those relationships.
  • Experience of close engagement with elected councillors and politicians and their officers, membership and advocacy organisations.
  • Impeccable written and verbal communication skills; you will be able to confidently and persuasively communicate with a wide range of stakeholders, adapting your messaging for your audience.
  • A proven history of achieving good outcomes when dealing with challenging audiences and stakeholders.
  • Strong organisational skills, and the ability to juggle a range of different tasks and responsibilities.

Desired

  • Demonstrable interest in the transport sector and an understanding of transport infrastructure as it relates to governance in the UK.
  • Demonstrable interest in sustainability issues e.g. net zero targets.
  • Experience working with road safety bodies and / or organisations representing all road users e.g. pedestrians.
  • Experience working with journalists and the media.
  • Project management experience.
  • An established network of relevant contacts.
