As Databricks’ Senior Public Relations Manager, you will have the unique opportunity to shape the narrative of a company at the forefront of data and AI. Databricks is on a mission to simplify and democratize data and AI, enabling organizations to solve the world's toughest problems. You will report to the Director of Global Communications and play a pivotal role in driving our mission forward, leveraging your expertise to manage impactful programs and initiatives that enhance our brand visibility and market presence. The impact you will have:

  • Setting communications strategy: Set the strategic direction for Databricks’ communications programs, aligning them with our business goals and ensuring they effectively convey our mission, values, and innovations to a global audience.
  • Generating high-quality PR coverage: Build meaningful business outcomes by securing high-quality PR coverage in top-tier media outlets, enhancing our brand recognition and credibility in the industry.
  • Driving cross-functional collaboration: Collaborate with marketing, product, and executive teams to develop compelling messaging for product launches, corporate announcements (including partnerships, investments and acquisitions), and other strategic initiatives, ensuring consistency across all communications channels.
  • Creating high-quality content: Oversee the creation of engaging and informative content, including press releases, blog posts, white papers, and social media content, that resonates with our target audiences and supports our thought leadership position.
  • Developing policy and crisis communications programs: Develop and execute strategies for policymakers and the general public on data and AI. Lead our crisis communication efforts, swiftly and effectively managing any issues that may arise, protecting and enhancing Databricks’ brand and reputation in the market.
  • Managing global agency relationships: Effectively manage relationships with PR agencies across the globe, ensuring they are aligned with our strategic goals and deliver high-impact results that amplify our key messages.
  • Owning measurement and analysis: Be responsible for measuring the effectiveness of communication strategies, using data to continuously refine and improve our PR

What we look for:

  • 7+ years of product marketing experience in an enterprise software company
  • Experience working with data and AI companies and technologies
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to craft compelling stories that resonate with diverse audiences
  • Leadership and project management skills, with experience managing multiple high-priority projects simultaneously
  • Collaborative, team player, with a proven track record of partnering cross-functionally with product, corporate development, legal, and executives
  • Deep understanding of the media landscape, with established relationships with key journalists, editors and producers
  • Experience with crisis communications and reputation management
  • Creative, strategic thinker with a passion for technology and innovation
  • Analytical with experience setting and tracking communications metrics and KPIs
  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Marketing, Journalism, or a related field

Pay Range Transparency

Databricks is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. The pay range(s) for this role is listed below and represents base salary range for non-commissionable roles or on-target earnings for commissionable roles.  Actual compensation packages are based on several factors that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to job-related skills, depth of experience, relevant certifications and training, and specific work location. Based on the factors above, Databricks utilizes the full width of the range. The total compensation package for this position may also include eligibility for annual performance bonus, equity, and the benefits listed above.
