Senior Recipe Developer
The Senior Recipe Developer will be responsible for strategic development that drives new concepts based on cross functional priorities. They will also be responsible for conversing with, and writing reports for cross functional groups of colleagues and peers in ways that support problem solving and planning. They see opportunities rather than problems, and solve relevant internal team problems with a hands-on and pragmatic approach and encourage others to see positive outcomes of doing things differently. They actively seek out new challenges that require risk taking and determine the resources, team support, and technical needs necessary to enable success. They are accountable for recommendations to individuals and teams on ways to improve performance and meet defined objectives when the manager is not present. The Senior Recipe Developer will be responsible for leading larger campaign projects in conjunction with Product, mentoring more junior recipe developers, and being a constant role model of excellence.

- Strategic Development and Innovation:
- Spearhead the creation and implementation of innovative recipe concepts that align with company goals and target audience preferences.
- Proactively identify emerging culinary trends and incorporate them into recipe development strategies.
- Recipe Development and Execution:
- Maintain a consistent and efficient recipe development cadence to meet project deadlines and company objectives.
- Oversee and manage large-scale recipe development campaigns from conception to completion.
- Utilize online platforms and tools to meticulously document and track all aspects of the recipe development process, ensuring transparency and accessibility for team members and stakeholders.
- Quality Assurance and Culinary Expertise:
- Uphold the highest standards of accuracy and precision in all facets of recipe development, including recipe writing, culinary guidelines, and cost management.
- Exercise critical judgment during benchtop testing (both personal and team) to guarantee that recipes not only meet the brief but also resonate with the target customer.
- Conduct thorough benchtop testing of all recipe formulas, incorporating feedback from Culinary Team panel tastings to inform data-driven decisions and recipe updates.
- Consumer-Centric Approach:
- Leverage consumer data and insights to inform recipe development and ensure alignment with customer preferences and market trends.
- Stay abreast of current and emerging consumer trends to anticipate and meet the evolving needs of the target audience.
- Project Management and Cross-Functional Collaboration:
- Effectively manage multiple checkpoints and deliverables for each product formula to ensure timely completion of projects.
- Lead and collaborate on culinary projects with cross-functional teams, including marketing, procurement, and operations, to achieve shared objectives.
- Utilize expertise to identify and capitalize on new product opportunities, while proactively addressing and overcoming challenges in new product design.
- Leadership and Team Support:
- Assist the Culinary Recipe Development Manager in implementing new processes, conducting tastings, developing ingredients, and fostering effective internal communications.
- Proactively seek out and embrace new opportunities that may involve calculated risks to refine and optimize existing processes.
- Continuous Improvement and Adaptability:
- Remain adaptable and open to change, embracing new ideas and approaches to recipe development.
- Demonstrate a commitment to continuous learning and professional development, staying informed about culinary advancements and industry best practices.

- Mentoring more junior recipe developers and being a role model of excellence.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, organizational skills with an aptitude for creativity, innovation and ability to resolve challenges.
- Experience working in a fast-paced environment, dealing with both internal and external customers, including cross-functional teams
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively and manage timelines
- Project management skills and experience completing projects in tight timelines using good experimental design techniques and practices.
- Organized and detail-oriented, with excellent record keeping skills
- Ability to work independently
- Knowledge of food preparation, consumer product testing, sensory testing and manufacturing operations procedures.
- Sound knowledge of food ingredients
- Working knowledge of general mathematics and scientific weights and measures.
- Ability to solve challenges in an egoless environment
- Support Culinary Recipe Development Manager in day-to-day operations
You bring..............
- 6+ years in Food Design/Recipe Development in a corporate setting (external candidates)
- Bachelor's degree in a related field preferred
- Culinary degree or certification from an accredited program, Food Science background or commensurate experience a plus
- Creative mindset to quickly change and adapt to new processes and change
- Excellent time management & communication skills
- Computer skills including Google Docs, Sheets, and Slides
