Senior Research Analyst – Beauty and Personal Care
Job Intro:
We are looking for a Senior Research Analyst specializing in the Beauty and Personal Care category to join the China Insights Team. This opportunity will offer you the chance to develop your own expertise and be the thought leader in the Beauty and Personal Care industry, with the opportunity to influence the world’s largest consumer brands and advertising agencies.
What You Will Be Doing:
- Work with Category Directors to write and publish 8 reports a year covering a variety of consumer markets that demonstrate Mintel’s expertise in related topics
- Gather primary and secondary data relevant to each market, and work with Category Directors to develop accurate market, company, and segmentation data
- Design consumer research that can produce meaningful data reflecting key consumer trends mostly indecently
- Build relationships with industry contacts to understand the key issues influencing consumers, innovation, and company strategy, identifying the most relevant issues to explore in consumer research
- Meet tight publication deadlines
- Support Category Director to handle client service requests related to the subject field
- Support commercial team to proactively share Mintel’s insights with clients & prospects in data-pull or presentations
- Promote Mintel’s brand in the marketplace by supporting marketing and PR activities such as media interviews and webinars]
Who We Are Looking for:
- At least 5 years’ experience in beauty and personal care industry (skincare industry is preferred) and proven expertise, working in branding/marketing/digital marketing/insight roles; If you are from a research, consulting or data/market intelligence company, you should have extensive experience working directly with BPC clients.
- Good at data analysis, logical thinking (especially critical thinking and deep thinking ability) and summarizing; could predict the short to long term BPC trends based on data analysis, and put forward meaningful business insights; Familiarity with industry research, consumer research, expert interviews, e-commerce data analysis or social media listening is preferred;
- Have good presentation skills, have the confidence to do sharing or deliver speeches, and be able to skillfully respond to clients’ questions;
- Good Mandarin writing skills, experience in writing comprehensive reports is preferred; have good English reading and writing skills, can use English for daily and work communication;
- Good communication skills, willing to participate in cross-department and cross-team collaboration; Rigorous and meticulous, self-drive, strong pressure resistance, able to deliver high-quality output under time pressure
- Have a good academic background: 985/211 full-time bachelor's degree or postgraduate degree in sociology, psychology, marketing, business analysis and other related majors; Overseas study or living experience is preferred; MBA degree preferred
- In addition, curiosity about the business world and passion for the beauty care industry are preferred
