With a goal of organizational excellence in support of Databricks' rapid growth and strategic goals,  the Sr. Revenue Assurance Manager will work cross-functionally, taking a lead role on behalf of Finance, to build a sustainable, SOX compliant deal structure to support deal velocity. You will leverage your accounting and business expertise to develop automation with a goal of maximizing revenue and ensuring accuracy of revenue reporting.   The role will partner with key business partners across the organization to transform today's business process through creation of automated models supporting 75-80% of our direct commit business via a robust, self-serve or low touch workflow.  This includes strategic analysis of evaluating existing system capabilities, evaluating gaps and developing requirements for tools and systems to enable a self-service ordering environment. You will  document and secure alignment from key stakeholders, such as Commercialization, SalesOps, Legal, and RevOps, as well as executive leadership, to establish a best practices approach. Outputs will include creation of necessary documentation to illustrate a roadmap for executing change, including detailed business requirements for IT, enablement for Sales/SalesOps and supporting Finance functions to enable rapid implementation, change management and maximum efficiency in the deal cycle. This position reports to the Director, Revenue Assurance.

The impact you will have:

  • Identify, plan and execute transaction cycle business process improvement with a focus on building and maintaining a SOX compliant control environment, resulting in automated data capture
  • Develop an operational model to analyze portfolio of transactions to identify opportunities to build standardization of commercial strategy and contract cycle execution to facilitate scale and drive deal velocity
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to create a roadmap for automation using trend and insight analysis, focused on build out of upstream tool capabilities to drive automation
  • Summarize findings to seek alignment between Commercialization, Legal, SalesOps, Revenue Assurance and RevOps to drive consistency and best practices to build for scale
  • Recommend and drive process improvement impacting upstream and downstream stakeholders
  • Create rules/best practices to standardize and automate increasing number of deal approvals, working with Commercialization on pricing trends, nonstandard (non-CPQ contract drafting elements) to drive standardization of terms with frequently used options that can be guided by CPQ approval rules and auto-drafting
  • Contribute to automation of the corporate approval matrix to address Finance related impacts, working with leadership to align on required approval thresholds and implementation of automated approval and exception process
  • Support creation of enablement models to support change management for sellers and supporting orgs to drive scale. 

What we look for:

  • Bachelor's degree with an emphasis in Business, Finance or Accounting, MBA.
  • 6+ years of combined experience in finance and business operations in a publicly traded SaaS technology business
  • Familiarity with current revenue recognition guidance for enterprise software and SAAS arrangements ("ASC 606").
  • Deal review and operational controls experience in a growing SAAS technology business
  • Experience using Netsuite and Salesforce, or similar enterprise CRM/ERP technologies

 

Pay Range Transparency

The pay range(s) for this role is listed below and represents base salary range for non-commissionable roles or on-target earnings for commissionable roles.  Actual compensation packages are based on several factors that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to job-related skills, depth of experience, relevant certifications and training, and specific work location. Based on the factors above, Databricks utilizes the full width of the range. The total compensation package for this position may also include eligibility for annual performance bonus, equity, and the benefits listed above. Zone 1 Pay Range$150,200—$265,700 USD
