Senior Site Reliability Engineer - Trust Services 

Fastly’s Trust Services team is looking for accomplished Site Reliability Engineers to join our team who will help extend our world-class infrastructure-as-code platform by expanding, improving, and supporting our secrets management solutions provided to our customers - both internal and external. This role will develop workflow tooling and automation as well as provide mentoring and support for users of the platform.

What You'll Do:

  • Manage our distributed PKI infrastructure focusing on reliability, security, and stability
  • Assist with implementation and maintenance/operations of secrets management systems that meet the needs of our growing business and customer base
  • Work closely with security and compliance to ensure solutions meet requirements, have proper visibility and oversight, and implement enhancements
  • Build automation that reduces manual interaction and promotes continuous improvement
  • Assist internal customers in onboarding to our internal CA solution, ensuring their needs and use cases are met
  • Contribute to future expansion of trust services at Fastly

What We're Looking For: 

  • Expertise and experience building and scaling systems in public cloud (AWS, GCP) or private data centers utilizing containers (K8s, Docker, etc.)
  • Using programming skills to build automation to simplify and automate repeated tasks. 
  • A desire to learn and grow while working on new things and taking on challenges
  • In depth knowledge of modern Linux distributions with a focus on securing and configuring at large scale
  • Hands on experience with configuration and deployment tools such as Terraform and Chef
  • Comfortable working in highly regulated environments and working with auditors
  • Capable technical documentation skills and the ability to communicate concepts at both a high and low level to a variety of audiences from upper management to peers. 

We’ll be super impressed if you have experience in any of these: 

  • Experience managing a public or large scale private certificate authority
  • Are familiar with best practices configurations of Hashicorp Vault
  • A programming background with development and code reviews in languages like Go as well as other general purpose languages such as bash, Python, etc.

Work Hours: 

  • This position will require you to be available during core business hours as well as a member of a 24x7 on call rotation.

Fastly currently embraces a largely hybrid model for most roles which allows employees flexibility to split their time between the office and home. 

This position may require occasional travel as required by your role or requested by your manager.

Salary:

The estimated salary range for this position is $167,790 to $209,740. 

Starting salary may vary based on permissible, non-discriminatory factors such as experience, skills, qualifications, and location.

This role may be eligible to participate in Fastly’s equity and discretionary bonus programs.
