About the Senior Software Engineer in Integrations Platform:

The team is part of the Platform Tribe and is responsible for building critical internal developer platforms for SumUp. The Integrations Platform team is currently building a new customer data platform that will enable real-time data to be accessible to our user.

As part of Integrations Platform, you will be building software systems that will empower CRM and Engineering teams to make data easily accessible. We want our users to focus on bringing value to our customers without worrying about the underlying infrastructure. To be successful in this role, you should be a product minded engineer who aims to improve the user experience of our stakeholders.

About the role & what you’ll do:

As a Senior Software Engineer, you will be responsible for

• Building and scaling critical data pipelines and streaming services that are exposed to external users.
• Produce high quality streaming data via Kafka and maintain APIs using GraphQL and REST
• Build and maintain a highly available and reliable production system
• Creating a new framework that facilitates data movement between systems
• Communicating and collaborating directly with our stakeholders to identify their pain points and gather feature requests
• Mentoring and conducting knowledge sharing sessions across teams
• Participating in hiring new engineers for the team 

You’ll be great for this role if:

• You have experience working with software engineering on large scale systems (5+ years of full time work experience in Software Engineer/Data Engineering/Backend Engineering)
• You are a polyglot engineer and have experience in 1 or more of our preferred languages (Go, Python, Java) 
• You have prior experience in building and deploying infra using AWS, Kubernetes, Helm, Terraform
• You have hands on experience using real-time data systems like Kafka, Apache Spark, Apache Flink, Apache Pinot/Druid 
• You are passionate about creating Platform as a Service or Software as a Service applications
