About the job

Who We Are:

At Wayfair, we harness the power of data and technology to deliver rich, flexible, and scalable catalog experiences to millions of customers worldwide. The Catalog Data Foundation (CDF) is at the heart of this mission—responsible for ensuring that product data is structured, validated, localized, governed, and projected seamlessly into customer-facing systems.

Within CDF, the Catalog Consumption team enables scalable, reliable access to core catalog data, drives the modernization of key systems and empowers teams to independently manage their data migration and discovery processes. We also build the interfaces between our customer-facing platforms and foundational data systems, while driving strategies that separate customer facing functions (like storefronts and advertising) from fulfillment operations (such as inventory and billing), aiming to enable flexible, large-scale merchandising.

We are highly collaborative, innovative, and data-driven, utilizing cutting-edge technologies like AI, Apollo GraphQL, Aerospike and Kafka in order to build resilient, high-performance systems that serve both our internal teams and our customers. This is a high visibility role that is at the nexus of everything that CDF is doing to power Wayfair's next generation of retail, from customer experiences to our core business operations.

We are looking for outstanding candidates to join us as a full-time Engineering Manager. Successful candidates will lead strong, empowered teams that own and operate core subgraphs in the federated ecosystem. You will solve complex technical and business challenges with scalable, performant, and maintainable solutions, while driving best practices in engineering and leadership. You’ll be responsible for enabling seamless catalog data access, ensuring subgraph ownership aligns with domain expertise, and delivering the single source of truth that powers Wayfair’s merchandising and storefront experiences.

You will lead a team based in North America, partnering with Product, Architecture, and other Catalog Foundation teams to design, build, and evolve the next generation of catalog consumption infrastructure. Your team will have end-to-end ownership—from idea generation and technical design, through development and delivery—giving you both the responsibility and authority to ensure success.

The position offers exceptional opportunities for technical and leadership growth. If you are selected, you will have the chance to directly influence Wayfair’s core shopping experience, enabling merchandising flexibility at scale, accelerating innovation, and empowering atomic teams across the company to truly work atomically.
