Who We Are

The name ThousandEyes was born from two big ideas: the power to see what’s not ordinarily possible, and the ability to collect intelligence from vantage points as diverse and global as the Internet. As organizations depend on cloud services, the Internet has become their defacto network connecting cloud applications to users. Our Internet and cloud intelligence platform is like a ‘Google maps of the Internet’, providing the only collectively powered view of digital experiences end-to-end. We enable our customers made up of the world’s largest and fastest-growing brands, to identify problems before they impact revenue, brand reputation, or employee productivity.

In August 2020, Cisco Systems completed the acquisition of ThousandEyes, which now forms the ThousandEyes Business Unit within Cisco’s Network Services Business Group, and is a foundational component of Cisco’s growing Observability business.

What You’ll Do

You will create and manage a new team focused on building and qualifying new integrations of ThousandEyes’ market-leading End User Monitoring product with a range of third-party products and services. These range from strategic industry partnerships to existing Cisco products that benefit from ThousandEyes’ unique insight into the digital experience. This role is critical to our future business growth, and you will be accountable for all people and technical aspects of this team.

What We’re Looking For

We are looking for a technically minded people leader, who is also able to negotiate complex business interactions both inside and outside the company. Since this is a new function, you will need to have the charisma and leadership skills to get it up and running, coupled with the engineering and quality nous to build, test and ship new product integrations.

Here are some of the main things we are looking for:

  • Effective people leader. You will need to build a new team, so you will excel in recruiting, training and leading others. We are very focused on enabling and bringing out the best in our teams, so you will have a mostly servant leadership style with the ability to lead with urgency when required.
  • Quality mindset. You will be well-versed in modern test automation methodologies, and able to think through, articulate and put into practice qualification programs for newly integrated products.
  • Clear technical vision. You will work with and beyond Product Management and Engineering teams to formulate a compelling vision for how we approach third-party integrations. You have the communication skills to sell it internally and to partners, and to make sure it is represented in the team’s strategy and roadmap.
  • Experience in software development. Your team will deliver a range of software assets such as SDKs, JavaScript components and platform integrations. You will need to be all over the details of these projects.
  • Knowledge of Internet technology. You will have experts to lean on, but you’ll also be familiar with TCP, IP, ICMP, UDP and HTTP, and understand how these play together with our technology. You’ll have a sense of how customers configure their networks, and of the challenges and opportunities this brings.
  • Natural collaborator. It takes a village to do anything worthwhile, and you’re happy working across Product Management, Sales Engineering and Engineering to help shape our approach to integrations.
