We’re investing in the tools and infrastructure that allow engineers to move fast, own outcomes, and bring delightful customer experiences to life.
About The Team:
Our Web Experience teams build the most visible parts of Wayfair’s customer journey - from landing pages and navigation to product discovery and decision-making. We’re a team of engineers working across the stack, with a focus on JavaScript, React and Node.js. We collaborate closely with design, product, and analytics partners to bring elegant, performant, and accessible experiences to life.
We care deeply about web performance, reusability, visual polish, and user experience. We also value experimentation, iterative delivery, and the ability to move quickly without sacrificing quality. This team is a great fit for engineering managers who enjoy empowering developers, partnering cross-functionally, and guiding customers to the perfect product for their home.

- Grow and support your team through coaching, mentorship, and career development; foster a healthy, inclusive team culture where engineers do their best work.
- Balance short-term delivery pressures with long-term technical investments in architecture, maintainability, and performance.
- Drive operational excellence by improving quality, site speed, monitoring, reliability, and team processes.
- Advocate for modern web development standards, and help evolve Wayfair’s frontend architecture, including adoption of React Server Components, streaming, and modular design systems.
- Contribute to the broader engineering management community at Wayfair through hiring, onboarding, and cross-team initiatives.
- Champion the use of metrics and analytics to inform priorities, measure success, and iterate on customer-facing features.
What You’ll Need:
- Experience managing frontend engineers delivering production-grade, customer-facing web applications.
- Strong technical background in modern frontend technologies (e.g., React, Next.js, GraphQL) with the ability to guide architecture decisions and code when needed.
- Demonstrated ability to lead teams toward successful project delivery while balancing scope, quality, and speed.
- Excellent collaboration and communication skills across technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- A product mindset with a strong focus on user experience and business impact.
- Experience working in platform teams or building shared tooling and reusable components is a plus.
- A track record of fostering a strong team culture, supporting individual growth, and managing performance.
- Comfort operating in ambiguity and leading through change in a fast-paced environment.
