The Solutions Engineer Opportunity
As an Auth0 Solutions Engineer, reporting to the Senior Manager of Solutions Engineers, you'll be a pivotal technical and business advisor. You'll leverage your passion for technology and your expertise to craft, position, and compellingly demonstrate how Auth0's solutions solve critical customer challenges throughout the sales cycle. Your contributions will directly impact the achievement of quarterly and annual sales goals within your assigned territory.
Key Responsibilities
- Partner with the sales team as the go-to technical and domain authority, enabling customers to grasp the full value and potential of Auth0's identity solutions.
- Deeply understand customer pain points and strategic objectives, then design and deliver tailored product demonstrations that clearly align Auth0 solutions to their specific needs.
- Serve as a primary technical resource, confidently addressing product features and in-depth technical inquiries from customers, partners, and internal Okta teams.
- Architect and execute impactful Proof of Concepts (POCs) for customers with intricate use cases, collaborating seamlessly with cross-functional Okta engineering teams to ensure success.
- Act as a crucial voice of the customer, channeling valuable feedback to product management to drive product enhancements that address evolving needs and unlock new value.
- Champion knowledge sharing by contributing to and leveraging best practices and reusable assets, actively enhancing the collective expertise and efficiency of the Solutions Engineering team.
- Maintain a sharp understanding of the competitive landscape and Auth0's key market differentiators, enabling you to effectively position our solutions.
- Represent Auth0 at key marketing events, including executive briefings, industry conferences, user groups, and trade shows, showcasing our technology and thought leadership.
- Develop and showcase your expertise by becoming a subject matter expert (SME) in specific Auth0 product areas or competitive intelligence, mentoring and guiding your peers.
Required Qualifications:
- 5+ years pre-sales engineering experience.
- A passion to serve the Customer, demonstrated in a customer-facing role, such as consulting or support, but ideally in a pre-sales capacity.
- Ability to articulate complex technical concepts clearly and concisely to diverse audiences, both verbally (e.g., whiteboarding on the fly) and in writing
- Solid understanding and hands-on experience with identity and network security protocols (e.g., OAuth, OAuth2, OpenID Connect, SAML, LDAP).
- Practical experience in one or more software development domains:
- Web Development: JavaScript, HTML, modern frontend frameworks (e.g., React, Angular, Vue.js)
- Mobile Development: iOS (Swift/Objective-C) or Android (Kotlin/Java)
- Backend Development: Node.js, Python, Java, C#, PHP, Ruby, Go
- Exceptional communication and presentation skills, with the ability to engage and influence both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Confidence and credibility in presenting technical information and insights to skilled and experienced audiences, including developers, architects, and CTOs
- Willingness and ability to travel up to 30% to meet with customers and support events
- A Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, MIS, or a related field is preferred, or equivalent practical experience
Preferred Qualifications:
- Knowledge in emerging technologies like Generative AI, intelligent agents, and conversational bots.
- Exposure to cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure) and tools like Kubernetes, Terraform, and serverless environments.
- Experience building or securing bots, agents, or automation frameworks.
- A strong grasp of core application security principles and common vulnerabilities (e.g., password hashing, SSL/TLS, encryption at rest and in transit, XSS, CSRF, SQL injection).

The OTE range for this position for candidates located in the San Francisco Bay area is between:$215,000—$323,000 USDBelow is the annual On Target Compensation (OTE) range for candidates located in California, Colorado, New York and Washington. Your actual OTE, which is inclusive of base salary and incentive compensation, will depend on factors such as your skills, qualifications, experience, and work location. In addition, Okta offers equity (where applicable) and benefits, including health, dental and vision insurance, 401(k), flexible spending account, and paid leave (including PTO and parental leave) in accordance with our applicable plans and policies.
