The Community You Will Join: 

The CashOps team maintains the accounting and reconciliation of all platform cash related to guest and host activity on a daily basis. We track the cash record from internal platform creation through the processor to the bank. We reconcile

  • 130 bank accounts
  • 28 processors
  • 25 settlement currencies
  • 44 accepted payment currencies

The Difference You Will Make:

  • As a finance team member, the Cash Operations Accountant will have broad exposure to various financial systems Airbnb and will support critical goals and deadlines.
  • The ideal candidate for this position will have strong attention to detail as well as strong time management and the ability to confidently support processes within the organization.
  • In addition, the ideal candidate will have cash management or accounting experience in an international, high transaction volume corporation, a strong understanding of US GAAP and the ability to work in a fast paced, hyper growth environment. This position reports to the Cash Operations Supervisor.

A Typical Day

  • Monitor, analyze and report on daily cash activity including system health and resolution of data issues (both internal and external)
  • Prepare and review daily and month-end journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations and supporting schedules
  • Prepare and review monthly merchant fee accrual entries
  • Fulfilling audit requests for internal, interim and year-end audit
  • Perform fluctuation analysis for monthly reporting deliverables
  • Preparation and performance of monthly and quarterly controls
  • Assist with maintenance of policies and procedures for accounting and analytical tools, and accounting and reconciliation systems
  • Collaborate with analysts on BI to investigate and report transaction discrepancies 
  • Shift Timings (IST) - 10:00 a.m to 07:00 p.m (Candidate need to cover any business contingencies)

Your Expertise:

  • Accounting Graduate / MBA Finance / Semi-qualified CA with relevant prior financial experience of minimum 7 or more years.
  • Work in a multinational, matrix organization
  • Work with a diverse team and across functional boundaries
  • Identify root cause of issues and guide teams to full issue resolution, and collaborate in development of projects for systematic solutions
  • Design operational process improvements, and ensure accurate application and integration into applicable workflows
  • Facilitation and collaboration skills to gather, document, and understand requirements obtained from multiple personalities across organizational boundaries
  • Experience in managing financial data. Knowledge of performance calculations and investment reporting
  • Systems experience: Workday, Blackline, Oracle or Other large ERP system
  • Proficiency in excel (can maintain complex spreadsheets), Word and Presentation and SQL & tableau is required
  • Have an experienced thought process and to lead automation with Alteryx, Six Sigma or any other means.
