About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and versatile Senior Specialist, Special Operations to join our newest brand: Factor (factormeals.ca), a healthy, ready-to-heat meal delivery service. As a Senior Supervisor, Special Operations, you will play a crucial role in supporting the growth and efficiency of our operations during this phase of scaling. This unique position will involve secondment roles in various key areas of our business, such as production/fulfillment ops, sanitation and maintenance/facilities management. The successful candidate will act as a lead supervisor, driving continuous improvement and contributing to the success of each department they work in while gaining valuable cross-functional experience.

What you will be doing:

Support the core operations of different functions based on business needs

  • Own continuous improvement initiatives to improve operational performance
  • Facilitate effective communication between departments to streamline processes and address operational challenges.
  • Ensure operational plans are executed and that all issues are communicated and tracked
  • Maintain high standards of Good Manufacturing Procedures and housekeeping in the production facility to ensure a safe work environment.
  • Conduct daily 5S, process, and facility readiness checks
  • Work in compliance with OH&S acts and regulations. 
  • Use personal protective and safety equipment and clothing as directed by the employer and report workplace hazards and dangers to the supervisor or employer. 
  • Other duties as assigned

At a minimum, you have: 

  • Bachelor’s degree or related management work experience.
  • 5+ years of experience within the Food & Beverage industry or similar i.e. fmcpg; preferably at production or distribution center 
  • Quantitative and analytical experience – must have proficiency using MS Excel and G-Suite Apps.
  • Proven experience in a supervisory role, demonstrating leadership and team management skills.
  • Strong understanding of food safety regulations and quality assurance principles.
  • Ability to quickly learn new areas of the business and adapt to new responsibilities
  • Innovative: Think of creative and efficient solutions to problems others may take for granted.
  • Ownership: Take pride in what you do. Treat the process as if it is your own.
  • Time Management: Understand process flow and prioritize accordingly.
  • Entrepreneurial with a strong attitude towards getting things done.
