Wayfair is on the lookout for a Senior Staff Engineer to lead the development of our comprehensive Global Loyalty, Payments, Financing, and Fraud platform, a pivotal component supporting our dynamic $12 billion business across various retail brands and expanding global presence. Our pillars are:

What You’ll Do

  • Serve as the technical authority in the Fintech & Loyalty domain, designing and building a scalable, future-proof platform that seamlessly integrates with various systems within and outside Wayfair on a global scale
  • Develop and drive a multi-year technology strategy for Wayfair's Fintech & Loyalty ecosystem, ensuring alignment with business objectives and long-term goals
  • Architect and review code to implement high-quality, scalable, and maintainable services that adhere to best practices in design and coding
  • Drive technical discussions and decisions across the entire platform, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement
  • Focus diligently on production readiness, including testing, monitoring, deployment, documentation, and proactive troubleshooting
  • Identify and mitigate risks and gaps in technical approaches, proposing solutions that align with the department's technical vision
  • Influence and contribute to the department's strategy and roadmap, ensuring the team's efforts are aligned with business priorities
  • Mentor and guide other engineers, fostering a culture of learning, growth, and technical excellence
  • Be recognized as a collaborative and credible subject matter expert, representing the team's focus area both internally and externally
  • Bring latest state of art into practice including genAI and ML solutions to Fintech and Loyalty

What You’ll Need

  • 10+ years of engineering experience specifically around launching customer focusing products to 10’s of millions customers
  • Ecommerce or customer-facing technology experience on a high-traffic website or product
  • Track record of driving software transformations within high-growth environments at scale
  • Experience architecting and building large-scale, cloud-based technology solutions
  • Full stack experience and comfortable designing frontend API/Servers, storage solutions, batch processes handling big data and pipelines to build data for ML training.
  • Hold high bar on Devops and MLops processes and standards

Preferred qualifications

  • Expertise in payments engineering, with extensive experience in large-scale integrations or platform development of credit cards, financing, BNPL, applications

The salary range for this position is $189,000-$222,000; however, base pay offered may vary depending on location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Restricted stock units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the position offered.
