  • This role's working hours are Monday to Friday from 7:00 am to 3:00 pm / 8:00 am to 4:00 pm
  • This is a 100% in-person role, meaning you will be required to come to our Distribution Center located at Tomken Rd & Matheson Blvd East, Mississauga

About the Role

The senior supervisor reports to the manufacturing manager and leads a team of supervisors, team leads, coordinators, and associates on a single shift or across multiple shifts. 

In the absence of a Manufacturing Manager, the Senior Supervisor is the primary point of contact for any operational and people escalations for the Manufacturing function in a fulfillment center. The Senior Supervisor is responsible for any issue resolution in day-to-day operations and, when necessary, further escalates issues to the Manager levels. 

The Senior Supervisor is responsible for complete, timely, and accurate execution of Manufacturing processes: labour planning & scheduling, Manufacturing planning, core Manufacturing processes (kitting, casing, labelling, staging, sorting, portioning, outbound [multi-operations])

What you will be doing:

  • Manage a shift or multi-shift operation with a team of Manufacturing  supervisors, team leads, coordinators, and associates
  • Act as the primary point of contact for escalations and corrective actions in warehouse operations. Works directly with the Manager(s) to resolve issues, escalations, and corrective actions
  • Responsible for complete, timely, and accurate execution of Manufacturing processes: labour planning & scheduling, Manufacturing planning, and core Manufacturing processes. 
  • Develop management schedule to ensure full coverage of processes
  • Accountable for key Manufacturing  controls and metrics, including but not limited to safety near misses and incidents, labour efficiency, Manufacturing errors, material yield and waste,  on-time delivery and employee engagement
  • Facilitate training / train new and existing employees in Manufacturing  operations best practices; Ensure strong understanding and adherence to standard operating procedures across all warehouse employees
  • Maintain a safe working environment by ensuring a clean and organized area, fully maintained equipment, and up-to-date training and management of employees; the work area must achieve compliance with global DC standards
  • Drive focus on error improvement and efficiency (minutes per box, labour variance); Conduct daily and weekly performance analysis  to identify the root cause of inventory cost variances and deliver corrective actions 
  • Drive continuous improvement by guiding the Manufacturing  team in identifying improvement opportunities in safety, quality, and efficiency
  • Work in compliance with OH&S acts and regulations. 
  • Use personal protective and safety equipment and clothing as directed by the employer and report workplace hazards and dangers to the supervisor or employer. 
  • Other duties as assigned

At a minimum, you have: 

  • 5+ years of  and/or Supply Chain experience, preferably with a Bachelor’s and/or Master’s degree in Engineering, Business or a related field
  • Strong understanding of OHS and Food Safety and its application in a warehouse and Manufacturing environment
  • Experience with managing a large-scale teams and operations

  • Strong understanding of warehouse systems and controls
  • Professional certifications and/or licenses with Lean Six Sigma preferred
