We’re in an unbelievably exciting area of tech and are fundamentally reshaping the data storage industry. Here, you lead with innovative thinking, grow along with us, and join the smartest team in the industry.

This type of work—work that changes the world—is what the tech industry was founded on. So, if you're ready to seize the endless opportunities and leave your mark, come join us.

THE ROLE

The Monetization / Business Strategy team is at the core of Pure’s commercial engine. We turn complex data into clear, actionable insights that shape pricing, renewals, and go‑to‑market decisions across the company. As a Senior Tableau Analyst, you will be our primary technical owner for Tableau and Snowflake/SQL in this space – designing and building end‑to‑end dashboards, ensuring trusted data foundations, and pushing our use of AI and automation in analytics.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

  • Own the Tableau environment for Monetization and adjacent teams – from content structure and governance to performance tuning, standards, and best practices for dashboards and data sources.
  • Design, build, and maintain end‑to‑end Tableau dashboards:
    • Based on requirements documents, clarify the business needs and ask relevant questions in order to solve the true business problems
    • Design data models and calculations in Snowflake/SQL.
    • Build intuitive, performant visualizations in Tableau that drive decisions, not just reports.
  • Model and prepare data in Snowflake – create and maintain views, derived tables, and reusable data sources that support self‑service analytics and consistent KPIs.
  • Write high‑quality SQL to join complex datasets, optimize query performance, and troubleshoot data issues across large, granular tables.
  • Implement and maintain data quality checks for key dashboards (freshness, completeness, reconciliation) and partner with data engineering or source system owners to resolve issues at root cause.
  • Standardize and document BI assets – data definitions, business logic, calculations, and dashboard usage guidelines, so stakeholders have a clear “source of truth.”
  • Champion Tableau best practices around visual design, UX, interactivity, and storytelling to maximize adoption and understanding across sales, finance, and strategy stakeholders.
  • Partner cross‑functionally (e.g. Monetization, Sales Ops, Finance, DTG/analytics) to align on definitions, and ensure dashboards support strategic decisions and avoid duplication of efforts.
  • Explore and prototype AI‑powered analytics use cases, such as assisted insight generation, natural language to SQL, or automated quality checks – and translate the most promising ideas into production‑ready workflows.
  • Leverage Python (where it adds value) to automate data preparation, integrate external data sources or APIs, and support advanced analytics or experimentation.
  • Act as a senior individual contributor  – driving projects independently, providing technical guidance to other analysts, and raising the bar for how we use data in Monetization.

We are primarily an in-office environment and therefore, you will be expected to work from the Bengaluru office in compliance with Pure’s policies, unless you are on PTO, or work travel, or other approved leave.

WHAT YOU BRING

  • 5+ years of hands‑on experience with Tableau where you were directly responsible for building dashboards – from understanding the business problem and shaping the data, through to visualization, launch, and iteration.
  • Expert‑level Tableau skills, including:
    • Complex calculations (LOD, table calculations, parameters).
    • Row‑level security, data source design, and published data models.
    • Performance tuning (extract vs. live, query optimization, efficient workbook design).
  • Strong Snowflake/SQL skills – you are comfortable:
    • Quick understanding of existing schemas and views for analytics.
    • Writing performant, readable SQL against large datasets.
    • Debugging joins, filters, and aggregation issues and optimizing queries for cost and speed.
  • Solid data modeling and BI foundations (e.g. KPI design) and an opinionated view on what “good” looks like for analytical data.
  • High interest in AI and automation – you actively follow developments in analytics/AI, are keen to experiment with new tools and workflows, and can pragmatically separate hype from real value.
  • Working knowledge of Python (or strong willingness to learn) for data preparation, automation, and integration with analytics/AI tooling.
  • Proven stakeholder partnership skills – you can translate ambiguous business questions into structured analytical problems, explain trade‑offs, and communicate insights in a clear, non‑technical way.
  • Bias for ownership and action – you are comfortable making progress with incomplete information, escalating risks early, working independently, and taking initiative to see work through from idea to production adoption.
  • Attention to detail and quality – you care about data accuracy, consistent definitions, and polished user experiences in dashboards.
  • Collaborative mindset – you are happy to share knowledge, coach others on Tableau and SQL, and contribute to a strong data culture across Monetization and the wider organization.
