The Team
The Deliveroo Platforms group is embarking on a transformational project of infrastructure migration which will lay the foundations for a more resilient, secure and cost-effective engineering platform.
The Platform Adoption team will be at the forefront of this initiative as they onboard teams across engineering onto the capabilities developed by platform teams. We are looking for a Senior Technical Programme Manager to own the delivery of the initiative and work closely with the Platform Adoption team to ensure its rollout is successful.
This is a hybrid role requiring 3 days a week in our London office in Cannon Street. You will report to a Senior Manager of Technical Programme Management.
What you will do:
- Coordinate with internal stakeholders, including product managers and software engineers, as needed for the programs.
- Be accountable for delivery of the initiative & work with all dependent teams to ensure timely delivery of the programs.
- Be the person unblocking the technical teams to ensure that the programs push forward in the right manner.
- Regularly work with the PMs & EMs in the teams associated with to ensure:
- Roadmaps are up to date for reporting and reflect the current state of the initiatives
- Dependencies are managed for cross-functional programs
- Adoption and path towards ways of working maturity within an Agile framework that optimises the programme’s velocity, including using Jira Roadmaps and Hierarchy effectively
- Own the regular reporting against the initiative at a group level including risk & dependency management.
- Contribute to the trade-off conversations of the roadmap and the associated triage meetings to determine the priority of the backlog which the tech teams will be working on.
- Be the point of contact inside engineering regarding the initiative.
- Work with the wider TPM community to enable cross-tech planning processes, prioritisation and dependency management.
Requirements:
- Interpersonal skills to build relationships, and collaborate with a variety of stakeholders (technical and non-technical) and across a set of diverse geographically distributed teams
- Ability to manage large-scale projects with dependencies and ensure progress
- Ability to tailor communication and reporting in accordance with the needs and expectations of the audience
- Deep understanding of the software development lifecycle and release management
- Experience operating autonomously and leading large-scale efforts across multiple teams and functions with stakeholders in different disciplines
Good to have:
- An understanding of cloud infrastructure engineering, release engineering and general software engineering workflows and processes
- Experience working as a project manager, programme manager, product owner or scrum master will be highly relevant
