This role is a leading role within Google DeepMind’s Data Operations Team, with line management responsibility as well as opportunities to act as an IC and Technical Program Manager. The Data Operations Team is accountable for enabling GDM to train the best models with the best data.

The role

As a Technical Program Manager in this team you will play a key role in working with internal and external partners to accelerate Google DeepMind’s data goals in a safe and responsible way.

Key responsibilities:

  • Build an understanding of Google DeepMind’s data ambitions and how our partner network enables us to achieve them.
  • Partner with a network of external vendors to establish and govern ways of working. Including governance frameworks and reviews.
  • Partner with internal teams to accelerate development of state of the art infrastructure and tooling for data collection and processing.
  • Apply technical knowledge to identify and execute pragmatic solutions
  • Line Management and development of TPMs within the team
  • Efficiency & Sustainability champion: Ensure DeepMind is a responsible stalwart of best practice with data.

About you

In order to set you up for success in this role at Google DeepMind,  we’re looking for the following skills and experience:

  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to distil complex ideas to their essence
  • Ability to build positive relationships and partnerships with internal and external senior stakeholders.
  • Comfortable dealing with ambiguity and able to thrive in a dynamic environment.
  • A curiosity about Google DeepMind's mission and AI / Machine Learning
  • Flexible, adaptable and highly responsive to the needs of the project, team and wider group
  • Experience managing a high performing team 

In addition, the following would be an advantage: 

  • BA/BS Degree or equivalent practical experience in Computer Science, Data Science, or another technical field
  • Experience working at or with data/tech providers/vendors/suppliers
  • Knowledge of data governance frameworks
