What's the opportunity? 🤔

The Security Engineering Group ensures that Intercom R&D ships secure software and that the development environments that engineering teams operate in to do so remains safe. 

Join us as a Senior Technical Program Manager to define and drive Intercom’s Security Engineering strategy, across all elements of product, infrastructure, and corporate security. Partner with the wider Information Security Group, Engineering, Legal, People and Sales stakeholders on security matters and have the opportunity to have a direct impact on Intercom’s ability to safeguard customer trust in their product.

What will I be doing? 🚀
  • Defining security engineering programs, working closely with stakeholders to define vision, strategy, scope, objectives, and deliverables.

  • Driving progress of security engineering programs to achieve great outcomes. Ensuring that program goals, status and outputs are well measurable, documented and understood by the company.

  • Collaborating with teams across the company to incorporate security requirements and best practices into system and product design.

  • Leading risk assessment exercises and recommending appropriate security controls and mitigations.

  • Keeping up-to-date with the latest security threats, vulnerabilities, and industry trends, and reflecting insights gained in your programs. 

What skills do I need? 📖
  • Extensive experience in defining and managing technical programs, with a focus on security engineering and secure software development.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to assess complex security issues and provide practical solutions.

  • Strong knowledge of some or all of the following: security engineering principles, industry standards (e.g. OWASP etc.), common security vulnerabilities and mitigation techniques.

  • Some experience with cloud security practices, including tooling, strategy, and methodology; with experience in AWS security preferred.

  • An ability to thrive in an ambiguous and fast paced environment with a high degree of autonomy.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, building strong relationships at all levels of the organization from senior leadership to teams

How will I be supported? 
  • You will report to the Director of Security Engineering,

  • You will partner with group level product, design and engineering leaders. 

  • You will work closely with the TPM network within Intercom R&D.

  • You will have a close group of management peers to collaborate with and learn from.
