Senior Technical Training Manager 

The Senior Technical Training Manager reports directly to the Director of Technical Enablement and plays a key role in shaping Fastly’s technical training strategy. In this role, you will utilize your expertise to develop and deliver impactful technical training programs for various deployment approaches, supporting both virtual and in-person sessions. You will closely collaborate with Sales Enablement and Sales Engineering teams to enhance technical training for Sales Engineering, contribute to Customer Enablement, and ensure up-to-date, cutting-edge learning materials are provided across Fastly’s expanding product portfolio. Your ability to build strong internal relationships and coordinate educational content across teams will be crucial to delivering high-quality training experiences.

What You'll Do:

  • Work alongside Sales Engineering and Sales Enablement teams to develop, execute, and optimize technical enablement initiatives.Enhance the technical skill set of Sales Engineering teams by delivering virtual or in-person technical training as needed.
  • Launch, promote, and support new product training initiatives in partnership with Sales Enablement Leadership.
  • Create learning paths within Fastly’s learning management system (Skilljar), identifying knowledge gaps and curating learning content to address these gaps effectively.
  • Partner with Sales Enablement experts and cross-functional teams to design and deliver technical training content for Fastly stakeholders, leveraging modern learning technologies and staying aligned with the latest product update.

What We're Looking For: 

  • 5+ years of experience in instructional design, with a strong background in task and needs analysis, cataloging and inventorying content, and course development across diverse learning modalities, including ongoing content updating and archiving cycles.
  • Demonstrated expertise in building technical courses and curricula, particularly within the SaaS, PaaS, and IaaS industries.
  • Proven skills in creating and delivering engaging, effective training content for varied technical audiences, ensuring accessibility for all levels of expertise.
  • Ability to work cross-functionally to continuously update and refine training content in alignment with evolving business needs.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with a passion for fostering personal development and contributing to business growth.
  • Experience managing multiple detailed projects simultaneously.

We’ll be super impressed if you have experience in any of these:

  • Proficiency in using tools such as DominKnow Flow and Claro, Skilljar, Adobe Creative Suite, DaVinci Resolve Studio, Confluence, and Trello.

Fastly currently embraces a largely hybrid model for most roles which allows employees flexibility to split their time between the office and home. 

Work Hours: This position will require you to be available during core business hours. 

Salary:The estimated range for On-Target Earnings for this role is $151,020.00 to $188,770.00. Starting salary may vary based on permissible, non-discriminatory factors such as experience, skills, qualifications, and location.

This role is eligible to participate in Fastly’s global sales compensation plan and may participate in Fastly’s equity program.
