All our roles are hub based (Bristol, Glasgow or London), providing a dedicated space for collaboration, connection and teamwork. You’ll also have the flexibility to work from home.

The finance team are mainly based from Bristol or London so even better if you're in these locations.

We might not be on the frontline of people’s zero carbon journey, but this treasury team keeps the turbines spinning by ensuring that our cash is used optimally; supporting all the functions in Ovo that rely on suppliers being paid, customers cash being allocated appropriately and everything in between.

 

This role in a nutshell:

Owning the accounting of the cash ledgers, turbo charging automation and being the go to person on cash.

 

Your key outcomes will be:

  • Collaborating closely with teams across the business to produce, analyse and review the daily cash position for accuracy and efficiency.
  • Provide regular updates to Senior management on cash position, covenant headroom and key working capital and cash management levers
  • Development on the automation of cash reporting
  • Deliver variance analysis and insight against previous forecasts to improve forecasting accuracy
  • Drive continuous improvements to short and long term cash forecasting processes and models
  • Developing FX policy and process before entering into hedges
  • Reviewing working capital to make regular deposit placements
  • Managing cash across the group
  • Reviewing trends in economic data to assist with decision making for cash management
  • Supporting the Treasury Manager on collateral position with key suppliers, with a view to becoming the SME
  • Working closely with and provide ongoing support for Treasury Analysts
  • Act as key point of contact for banking relationships, bank mandates and banking access/admin
  • Collaborating with Controls team to develop the framework of key treasury procedures and controls
  • Maintain a risk management framework to mitigate exposures, where they arise
  • Authorising payments and journals

Within your first 3 months month you’ll:

  • Have understood the cashflow models and be making proactive improvements
  • Have a good understanding of the energy industry and be able to challenge payments, journals and other transactions
  • Have created your network of key people in the business to gather any information needed

Systems:  Banking portals, Workday, Excel (obviously not a system….but finance loves Excel!)

 

You’ll be a successful Senior Treasury Analyst here at OVO if you…

  • Are comfortable prioritising conflicting items. there will be plenty of variety and keeping organised will be time critical
  • Are a good communicator. Keeping the team and the wider finance function in the loop will be important
  • Have great attention to detail. Ensuring the ledgers are up to date, payments are made in line with budget and cashflows are being recorded correctly

We’ll pay you between £50,000 and £55,000, depending on your specific skills and experience. If your expectations are a little different, have a chat with us!
