We’re looking for a Senior UX Designer to help us design and deliver thoughtful user experiences that truly empower our customers on social. As part of the Web Growth Team, you’ll be working on some of our most challenging and high-impact UX problems, helping to develop and execute shared Web and Digital experiences. While working remotely or in a hybrid work arrangement; a blend of virtual (in accordance with Hootsuite’s distributed workforce strategy), and in Hootsuite’s Toronto or Vancouver office you'll report to our Senior Director, Product Design & User Experience.  

WHAT YOU’LL DO:

  • Develop, maintain, and extend a deep understanding of the Hootsuite web portfolio, business objectives, customers, and competition by conducting or participating in relevant user research, competitive analysis, and other design thinking activities. 
  • Design and produce a range of digital assets including wireframes, high-fidelity designs, prototypes and production assets with defined objectives and strategies for the Hootsuite website; ensure designs are on brand and aligned with Hootsuite’s values and Guiding Principles
  • Be responsible for all design components of a project from initial ideation and refinement through to final objectives and deliverables
  • Present to, and defend your design decisions utilizing data, alignment to strategic roadmap and department OKRs to a variety of internal and external audiences and stakeholders
  • Build a close, collaborative, and influential relationship with your agile squad: your Web Strategist, Design Lead,  Software Developers, Experimentation and Marketing to define and achieve product objectives, creative approaches and deliverables. 
  • Responsible for understanding and translating cross functional business requirements in order to improve the UX/UI digital design experience
  • Support your team with training, onboarding, and informal mentorship of peers as needed
  • Other related duties as assigned

 

WHAT YOU’LL NEED:

  • Post secondary degree or diploma in Digital Media or Design
  • Senior level experience as a Web/UI/Product Designer in marketing, B2B industry, ideally in SaaS
  • A strong portfolio comprised of projects which demonstrate strategic, creative, and user centered design solutions to complex problems
  • Ability to independently conduct a wide range of appropriate UX design activities for complex problems such as: user research, workshop facilitation, strategy and vision development, concept design, detailed design, rapid prototyping, best design processes and human psychology and usability testing. Ability to contribute to planning and prioritization activities.
  • Expert-level knowledge of Figma and Sketch
  • Working knowledge of HTML and CSS, JS a plus.
  • Experience advocating for scalable, research-backed design frameworks, architecture, and solutions. Ability to influence user-centered design principles, concepts, and practices at the team level with input to other portfolios and advocate for change when strategy or solution isn't of high value.
  • Ability to provide technical oversight and mentorship to designers to improve outcomes for the team.
  • Experience optimizing existing processes by identifying opportunities for process and operational improvements and advocating for necessary changes

Compensation: 

Canada Pay Range For This Role$98,400—$137,800 CAD
