Senior UX Research Operations Program Manager

The Senior UX Research Operations Program Manager, part of Creative + Design Operations, will be essential in enabling quality research at MongoDB, with the chance to truly influence how research happens and improve the quality and success of our products and services.
In this role, you’ll help mature our research practice by creating alignment across research activities, creating common processes and templates, exploring purposeful tooling, and facilitating productive goal-driven conversations. You’ll partner with UX Research leadership and operations colleagues while leaning on your strengths and interests, developing both the research practice and your career.
What You’ll Do:- Mentor other program managers on research operations responsibilities and practices
- Engineer and champion processes that enable research to happen effectively and seamlessly
- Drive research process improvements for a democratized research environment
- Create a central repository of best practices, tools, and templates for research activities
- Drive the creation of a discoverable, self-service archive/repository of previous research insights
- Explore tools and work with procurement to secure vendors
- Guide designers and researchers on how to best utilize our tools to meet their research needs
- Improve research project workflows, prioritization, and team resourcing
- Monitor and track incentives budget spend
- Create participant data privacy and compliance guidance and guardrails
- Ensure all research practices are ethical and compliant
- Govern and streamline participant recruitment practices including participant panels
- Remove roadblocks so that researchers (and designers doing research) can focus on what they do best
- Facilitate meetings, such as research-focused stakeholder meetings, internal research team meetings, and cross-team meetings
- Elevate research as a practice across the organization
- Ability to speak with confidence about research activities and workflows; knowledge of UX research methods
- Experience in Research Ops / Research Program Management
- Experience as a hands-on mentor
- A background working in a software development or tech environment
- Excellent communication and storytelling skills

- Diplomatic negotiation style, ability to work with all kinds of personalities
- Natural leadership and problem-solving skills
- Resourcefulness to find quick and practical ways to address challenges
- Keen sense of when to follow a process and when process is getting in the way
- Proactive approach, pride of work, and passion for iterative workflow development
- Experience as part of a remote / distributed team
- Experience supporting B2B research environments, a plus
- Experience working in Jira to support task and project management, a plus
- Experiencing establishing and managing research repositories, a plus
- In about 3 months you’ll have ramped up on MongoDB research work and refined some quick-win processes for the team
- In about 6 months you’ll have rolled out a new program, templates or guidelines, that measurably improve how research gets done
- In about 12 months you’ll have automated key processes, enhanced workflows, enabled intergalactic time travel and made significant progress toward interdepartment and cross-functional processes that ultimately improve our users’ experience

MongoDB’s base salary range for this role is posted below. Compensation at the time of offer is unique to each candidate and based on a variety of factors such as skill set, experience, qualifications, and work location. Salary is one part of MongoDB’s total compensation and benefits package. Other benefits for eligible employees may include: equity, participation in the employee stock purchase program, flexible paid time off, 20 weeks fully-paid gender-neutral parental leave, fertility and adoption assistance, 401(k) plan, mental health counseling, access to transgender-inclusive health insurance coverage, and health benefits offerings. MongoDB’s base salary range for this role in the U.S. is:$95,000—$187,000 USD
