We are looking for a Senior User Researcher to join our teams in Bellevue, WA or Boston, MA offices. In this role, you’ll play a key part in advancing Chewy’s veterinary medicine initiatives, focusing on the software for our Chewy Vet Care practices and tools that support veterinarians. Your compassion for pets and those who care for them will drive your efforts to improve their well-being. You will collaborate daily with designers, UXR program managers, engineers, and product managers who share a deep passion for pets and their parents. You are eager to uncover new opportunities, impact pet health, and craft the future of User Experience Research at Chewy.

What You’ll Do:

  • Design and conduct research to address difficult and unclear user needs in emerging or evolving areas.
  • Evaluate design solutions for existing concepts that require further exploration or understanding.
  • Clearly link your research findings to broader business objectives and goals.
  • Collaborate across teams to build consensus and guide efforts in bridging knowledge gaps.
  • Identify and champion crucial customer needs and business opportunities to ensure the customer remains at the center.
  • Plan, estimate, and perform intricate research projects with precision and care.
  • Independently prioritize tasks and demands from various collaborators.

What You’ll Need:

  • 5+ years of experience as a UX researcher or in a similar role.
  • Delivering high-quality research that has driven relevant results, with case studies showcasing your expertise.
  • Ability to clearly communicate and present sophisticated user needs to influence product design.
  • Assessing the impact of your research on both customer experience and business outcomes.
  • Bachelor’s degree in the social sciences, user research, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
  • Role requires in-office presence at the local office.
  • Occasional travel to Chewy Vet Care (CVC) Clinic locations across the U.S. is expected.

Nice to Have:

  • Experience with B2B, enterprise, or internal software.
  • Familiarity with health care software.
  • Background in service design.
  • Experience in running and recruiting research participants.

Hub Locations & Work Arrangement:

  • Locations: Bellevue, WA | Boston, MA
  • Hybrid Model: 2+ days in hub location per week
  • Remote: This role is NOT a remote role.

Compensation & Benefits: 

Our salary range for a Senior UX Researcher position is $134,500.00 - $215,000.00. The specific salary offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors including but not limited to the candidate’s relevant experience, education, and work location. In addition, this position is eligible for 401k and a new hire and annual equity grant.

Non-exempt hourly Team Members accrue paid time off (PTO) while salaried-exempt Team Members have unlimited PTO, subject to manager approval. Non-exempt hourly Team Members in Fulfillment Centers and Customer Service are also eligible for additional unplanned unpaid time off (UTO). Team Members will receive six paid holidays per year. Team Members may be eligible for paid sick and family leave in compliance with applicable state and local regulations.
