About the Sports Business Practice:

Prosek’s Sports Business Practice operates where sport, finance, and enterprise value meet. As demand increases from leagues, teams, ownership groups, investors and sponsors, we are expanding our team with strong strategists and operators who can support exceptional client delivery and help grow our presence across the global sports ecosystem.

 

Overview:

We are seeking seasoned strategic communications leaders who bring strong sports and business fluency, exceptional narrative instincts, and deep media relationships. This hire will serve as a senior counselor to clients, architect high-impact storytelling, and help shape the future of Prosek’s Sports Business Practice.

 

What you’ll be doing:

Client Strategy & Narrative Development

  • Lead strategic discovery with clients and senior executives.
  • Develop messaging architectures, thought leadership platforms, and compelling narratives.
  • Translate business and cultural trends into storylines for top-tier business, finance, and sports media.

 

Media Relations & Visibility

  • Leverage strong relationships across sports, business, and financial media.
  • Drive proactive and reactive media strategies, including risk-aware communications.
  • Prepare executives for interviews, speaking engagements, and major announcements.

 

Growth & Market Development

  • Use industry networks to open doors and contribute to new business.
  • Identify cultural and commercial opportunities that create relevance for clients.
  • Build Prosek’s presence across leagues, teams, investors, and major events.

 

Leadership & Team Development

  • Counsel senior leaders while mentoring rising talent across the practice.
  • Model Prosek values: grit, humanity, entrepreneurialism, shared ownership.
  • Champion AI-enabled workflows to strengthen productivity and creativity.

 

What success looks like:

Within 12 months, the successful candidate will:

  • Serve as a trusted advisor to several major clients.
  • Drive meaningful earned media impact and narrative clarity.
  • Open new business conversations through personal networks.
  • Raise Prosek’s visibility and credibility in the sports ecosystem.
  • Introduce new strategic and AI-driven approaches that elevate the team.

 

What makes you qualified:

  • 8–15+ years in strategic communications, brand storytelling, or sports business strategy.
  • Experience working with leagues, teams, ownership groups, brands, or sponsors.
  • Demonstrated ability to advise C-suite leaders, owners, and investors.
  • Proven track record landing top-tier earned media.
  • High EQ, exceptional writing skills, entrepreneurial mindset.
  • Fluent in AI tools and advanced storytelling techniques.

 

Preferred experience:

  • Senior roles at major sports leagues or teams.
  • Communications or brand strategy experience at sports properties or major sponsors.
  • Sports-focused agency leaders or business-side executives with strong media fluency.
  • MBA preferred.

The anticipated salary range for this position is $175,000-$200,000. An employee's salary is determined by a range of factors including but not limited to relevant experience, qualifications, skills, seniority, geographic location, performance, and business or organizational needs. The range listed is one component of Prosek's total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include medical, dental and vision coverage, 401(k) matching, new business commission, paid time off, and other benefits.
