The Metering Platforms Team supports our operational business in their drive to roll out smart metering and EV charge points.  We partner with our technology suppliers (internal and external) to deliver change and ensure that the necessary tooling is fit for purpose and readily available.

 

This role in a nutshell:

You’ll guide a team of qualified QAs, ensuring that changes being delivered are to standard before coordinating their release to the operational business.  Following their release, you’ll monitor success metrics and ensure that the support standards received from our partners are to the appropriate level.

 

Your key outcomes will be:

  • Mentoring and developing our QAs to ensure quality is present throughout
  • Ensuring all releases across our estate have the necessary approvals and that the business is ready for them
  • Completing risk assessments for releases to guide people’s understanding of potential impacts
  • Working with our change teams to coordinate readiness activities 
  • Monitoring and reporting on 3rd party performance levels related to system up time, incident resolution time etc.
  • Conducting service reviews with our partners to ensure Metering is being prioritised effectively when it encounters issues
  • Review and approve application requests for company assets (phones, tablets etc.) so that our Field Engineers have what’s needed to complete their work

Within your first 3 months month you’ll:

  • Understand out tech estate and how each element supports the operational business
  • Have completed a ‘ride along’ with a Field Engineer and witnessed our Schedulers in action so that you have an understanding of our customer’s roles
  • Aligned with our internal tech functions how releases will be handled to ensure timely delivery whilst protecting the business
  • Created and agreed KPIs for each of our delivery partners which can then be tracked and monitored

Systems: Jira, G-Suite, internal scheduling and booking applications

 

You’ll be a successful Service and Release Manager here at OVO if you…

  • Have experience working in a change/delivery environment and have worked with both Agile and Waterfall project methodologies
  • Are confident challenging when standards are not being met
  • Have an eye for detail and want everything to be accurate before it goes out to the world
  • Are able to work independently along with running a team Possess excellent stakeholder management skills and have a flair for negotiation and persuasion
  • Can understand your customers needs and go out of your way to meet them
  • Think about situations methodically and can break down the complex into something understandable by others
  • Ensure your team’s professional development is at the heart of what you do

We’ll pay you between £45,000 and £55,000, depending on your specific skills and experience. If your expectations are a little different, have a chat with us!
