  • Role Summary
  • The Service Solution Architect leverages advanced technical capabilities and deep industry knowledge to support customers and Pure's account team. This role involves deeply understanding customer business requirements, technical needs, systems, environments, and service history, and is responsible for building, proposing, and delivering optimal IT infrastructure solutions. They collaborate with cross-functional teams both internal and external, including Sales, Solution SEs, Product Managers, Technical Support, and Engineering, to drive the formulation and sales of advanced service solutions for customers and partners. This role is primarily focused on delivery related to design and implementation, while also expected to participate in the upstream processes of pre-sales. Therefore, a deep understanding of IT architecture, solution design, networking, and the implementation of these solutions, from pre-sales, is required. Extensive experience is particularly required in the fields of replication, clustering, cloud provisioning, and data migration. Additionally, proficiency in scripting to automate these processes is expected.

     

  • Principal Duties & Responsibilities
    • Strategic Engagement and Requirements Definition with Customers & Partners (in collaboration with Sales & SEs):
      • Participate in high-level discovery sessions, advisory, and design workshops to deeply understand customer technical needs and business objectives.
      • Thoroughly analyze existing customer IT infrastructure to identify current configurations, challenges, inefficiencies, risks, and optimization opportunities.
      • Work closely with stakeholders to define functional and non-functional requirements, security, availability, advanced features, and integration needs.
    • Solution Design, Development, and Proposal:
      • Design scalable, resilient, AI/cloud-ready Enterprise Data Platform migration solutions that align with customer goals.
      • Develop and document detailed solution architectures and operational models that fit customer-specific requirements.
      • Contribute to the completion of comprehensive and specific customer proposals that include the proposed Product configuration and its TCO (Total Cost of Ownership) effect, by creating concrete transformation plans to reach the target state, ensuring alignment with customer business objectives.
      • Create testing frameworks, runbooks, and validation plans to ensure feasibility and mitigate risk prior to deployment.
      • Develop a risk-optimized transformation roadmap, including migration strategies, risk mitigation plans, and phased execution models.
    • Technical Consultation and Implementation Support:
      • Act as a consultative role in both pre-sales and post-sales to support the implementation of advanced service solutions.
      • Serve as Pure's technical point of contact, primarily for implementation-focused questions, for specific projects.
      • Provide technical advice to the sales team and develop engineering strategies.
      • Ensure the reliable execution of Pure storage deployments involving complex requirements (such as replication, clustering, data migration, and facilitating automation through scripting).
      • Manage project risks, budgets, and timelines to ensure successful outcomes.
      • For smaller projects, perform project delivery while also acting as project management.

     

  • Required Experience
    • 5+ years of experience in enterprise IT infrastructure operations.
    • Understanding of Enterprise Storage protocols.
    • Knowledge and experience in building and operating Flash Array series.
    • Deep understanding and practical experience with major cloud solutions such as Amazon AWS, Microsoft Azure.
    • Experience with data center migration.
    • Understanding of fundamental networking concepts.
    • Experience with scripting languages (e.g., Perl, Shell, PowerShell, Python).
    • Understanding of virtualization solutions (e.g., Cisco, Microsoft, VMware, Nutanix).
    • Experience with disaster recovery, cybersecurity, replication, and backup technologies (e.g., Zerto, Veeam, Rubrik, Veritas).
    • Experience with UNIX, Windows, and Linux operating systems.
    • Expertise in data migration toolsets (especially Cirrus Data Appliance, etc.).

     

  • Soft Skills, Certifications, and Mindset
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
      • Able to clearly communicate complex technical information to a non-technical audience.
      • Capable of delivering information at the level of detail and in the order expected by the audience, while understanding the essence of their intent.
    • Strong desire for continuous learning of new technologies and willingness to apply them in a customer-facing environment.
    • Ability to adhere to standard engineering principles and practices.
    • Creative approach to problem-solving and strong analytical capabilities.
    • Ability to manage external and internal stakeholders and report on project progress.
    • Certified such as ITIL, PMP, vendor-specific storage certifications, SNIA certification programs, and CompTIA Storage+.
    • Autonomous and proactive mindset.
    • Logical and rational thinking process.
    • Strong team player with a professional demeanor.
    • Proactive in offering opinions and clarifying ambiguities in meetings.
    • Excellent project management and multitasking skills.
    • Business-level English proficiency (ability to read and write, with a strong desire for improvement).
