Engineering at GoCardless 

The technical challenges of building GoCardless span from simplifying building banking schemes to optimising the time to render the dashboard.

Our technologies: We endeavour to build simple, reliable systems and we believe in using the best technologies for each task. Technologies we use across GoCardless include:  JavaScript, TypeScript, React, Ruby on Rails, Golang, Python, Postgres, BigQuery, Kubernetes, Elasticsearch, Prometheus, Google Cloud (GCP).

About User Experience Infrastructure

Our team’s mission: 

“Our mission is to accelerate innovation, inspire collaboration, and redefine user interface excellence.” 

We are the centre of excellence for GoCardless' core products, thinking holistically about usability, quality and interactivity. We exist to elevate the experience for our designers and engineers so they can deliver world-class interfaces that solve real problems for merchants.

In pursuit of our mission, the primary focus of the UXI team will be to drive and enable the adoption to the latest Flux design system (a collection of design guidelines and re-usable components, that designers and developers can use to build high-quality user interfaces) version across all core products. Improve the usability of our products to make a better experience overall, resulting in better quality merchants that want to use our product for more payment transactions.

In the upcoming quarter, our team will focus on developing FluxIQ, an internal tool designed to monitor and analyse Flux usage within our core products. This tool will provide valuable insights to our design teams, enabling them to make informed decisions for further improvements and enhance the overall user experience.
