Role summary:

We are seeking a backend engineer, passionate in Java development, solution design and operational support, to join the Symphony engineering group. 

We are operating in a multi-cloud environment with a strong devops mindset.

You will deliver both functional and technical features in the core Symphony Backends, with a focus on maintainability and scaling.

As a backend engineer you will cover all aspects of the backend lifecycle taking into account the specifities of our industry.

 

 

Responsibilities:

  • Design, implement and test highly-scalable server-side Java-based microservices and their interaction with the Symphony ecosystem.
  • Build and support automation and tooling required to build, deploy and operate the Symphony deliverables and containerized microservices in a public cloud environment.
  • Support the infrastructure needs by collaborating with site reliability engineers.
  • Participate constructively and collaboratively in backend design and code reviews.

 

Required Qualifications:

  • BS or MS in Computer Science and 2-5 years of experience in software development, Java server-side development
  • Experience designing and building solutions from scratch that helped improve/optimize release processes, developer productivity or operational excellence.
  • Experience in using and enhancing automation frameworks in a multi-cloud, multi-region environment, using tools like Jenkins, Docker or using a GitOps approach.
  • Prior experience in a fast-paced, dynamic, highly collaborative and agile global environment.
  • Experience with GitHub or similar source code management tools.
  • Problem solving skills and good understanding of the best practices for building, testing, deploying, and monitoring software.
  • Experience with microservices development and deployment preferred.
