About the job

This position is needed in a diverse team to build and maintain reliable UI systems for support operations teams and also for customer facing portal.  

As a Senior Software Engineer in the team, you will be partnering with product managers, architects, engineering managers and other engineers to deliver products for Supply Messaging products. You will be developing new operational tools while maintaining and enhancing existing ones, so we can continue to offer great user experience to our different stakeholders. 

Responsibilities

In this role, you’ll:

• Develop new UI functionality to fulfill our customers needs while ensuring continuous delivery with high quality.
• Review code and offer improvements to practices and processes to elevate the team and broader organization.
• Collaborate and brainstorm product ideas with product managers, designers, and engineers to build compelling user experiences for developers and end users.
• Build highly adaptable and effective UI platform tools across a variety of products with also contributing to creating high level UX designs. 
• Build highly scalable and available services.
• Be an active member of a highly efficient Agile Scrum engineering team.

Required:

• Bachelor's degree or similar experience in Computer Science or equivalent.
• Minimum of 4+ years in UI development (backend development skills is a supporting factor).
• Expert knowledge of frontend technologies, including modern JavaScript frameworks like React.js, state management libraries like Redux, and tooling such as Webpack or similar module bundlers.
• Strong fundamental knowledge of software development and best practices for RESTful service implementation.
• Interest in designing and  building front end applications with modern tools and languages. Familiarity with common architectural patterns, anti-patterns, and best practices, and knowing when to apply them appropriately.
• Being able to break-down requirements into smaller tasks and determine effort.
• Good understanding of DevOps CI/CD pipeline.
• Strong oral and written communication skills (in English): be prepared to frequently propose and discuss ideas and implementation details with your teammates, as well as involving other stakeholders in Twilio - we’re one single team, no one flies solo!

Desired:

• Experience from documenting your solutions and proposals.
• Experience on creating UX designs. 
• Experience with e2e testing, unit tests and integration testing.
• Willingness and experience to mentor young talent.
• Experience with building and running backend services.

Location 

This role will be based in our Tallinn, Estonia office or remotely in Estonia.
