Software Engineer I
Our Opportunity:
Chewy is hiring a Software Engineer for our Customer Engagement Platform Engineering Team. Our engineering team is responsible for building and managing the tech stack supporting our Customer Relationship Marketing and its services. The team is building platform capabilities and high performing services that are focused on delivering of highly personalized messages to our Pet Parents across Chewy’s on and off-site marketing channels (email, push, Chewy.com, Chewy app, social media handles).
Chewy’s mission is to empower pet parents to make smarter decisions about products for theirpets. We look to provide impact by providing pet parents relevant information when they showintent in purchasing pet product. In this role, you will work cross-functionally across Product, Design, Technology, Merchandising, Customer Service, Operations, and Executive teams to create, build, and execute the Customer Engagement Platform features and capabilities.
What You'll Do:
- You will be responsible for design, development, delivery and support of large-scale,distributed software and tools.
- Design and implement data integration services and reusable frameworks.
- Adhere to enterprise architecture and coding standards.
- Actively participate in architecture and code reviews to deliver high quality code.
- Actively participate in scrum ceremonies such as grooming, planning, demos and retros.
What You'll Need:
- 1+ years of Software Engineering experience.
- Bachelor's degree (Computer Science or similar technical field of study preferred), or equivalent work experience.
- Strong fundamentals in object-oriented design, data structures, algorithm design, and complexity analysis.
- Proficiency in at least one of the programming languages such as Python/Java/GO.
- The ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and take accountability for your work.
Bonus:
- Experience with multiple AWS or similar cloud platforms.
- Experience developing CI/CD pipelines in Jenkins or similar tools.
