Our Opportunity:

Chewy is seeking a Software Engineer in Minneapolis for its Fulfillment Automation team. In this role, you will be a key member of a diverse engineering team that researches, develops, tests and deploys scalable advanced process automation systems to support the growth of Chewy’s fulfillment operations across an extensive network of fulfillment centers. What You’ll Do:

  • Design and develop software applications that seamlessly work with other systems within Chewy. 
  • Partner with data scientists to work on advanced automation implementations. Work with internal operations partners to obtain system feedback and measure system performance.
  • Partner with internal software teams to integrate with other automation and warehouse systems. 
  • Develop modular, highly available, secure, performance, reliable and scalable production-ready systems using the latest technologies available.
  • Leverage and champion desired methods that enable automated test and continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD). 
  • Partner with other engineers to improve our applications’ operational readiness through dashboards, monitors, alerts etc.

What You’ll Need:

  • Bachelor’s Degree (Computer Science, Engineering or related field) or equivalent work experience!
  • 3+ years of professional software development experience.
  • Experience in design (data structures, algorithms, performance, reliability, and scalability) and development of new software programs.
  • Ability to program in Java, Python or other related current programming languages.
  • Experience with cloud native technology stacks such as AWS.
  • Experience designing scalable RESTful services and APIs.
  • Understanding of CI/CD pipeline including containerization, configuration management and deployment.
  • Ability to simultaneously support multiple high priority projects in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to travel as needed (<5%)

Bonus (if applicable):

  • Experience with AWS technologies and Infrastructure as Code platforms like terraform.
  • Experience using scalable deployment technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Experience working with enterprise ETL data pipelines.
