As an engineer on the Data Engineering team you'll provide intelligence to the rest of the company that will enable making better product decisions. You'll make use of the latest advances in large scale data processing to uncover insights in data. You’ll work on building critical data pipelines and solutions with a world-class team of engineers towards the mission of enabling planet-scale, data-driven products and insights at Pinterest.

 

What you’ll do:

  • Work with cross functional stakeholders to design and architect data and analytics solutions
  • Build robust data pipelines, tooling and platform solutions which collect, process, and compute large datasets
  • Create critical datasets for analytical use cases, machine learning and many other strategic initiatives
  • Drive efforts to improve code and data quality, optimize data processing platforms, physical data storage and increase operational resilience. 

 

What we’re looking for:

  • 4+ years of industry experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field such as computer science or equivalent experience
  • Proficient in SQL, Python and Scala/Java using Apache Spark or any other distributed framework
  • Passionate about working with data at hundreds of petabytes scale

In-Office Requirement Statement:

  • We let the type of work you do guide the collaboration style. That means we're not always working in an office, but we continue to gather for key moments of collaboration and connection.
  • This role will need to be in the office for in-person collaboration 1-2 times every 6-months and therefore can be situated anywhere in the country.
