About the role

• Work with engineers, designers, product managers, and project managers to implement new features across Crunchyroll's Android, Android TV and Fire TV apps
• Coordinate with team manager on technical designs and technology decisions
• Coordinate with multiple teams and manage dependencies where applicable
• Ensure good code quality by doing rigorous code reviews and maintaining good code coverage on tests
• Work with team manager to develop a comprehensive testing pyramid

In the role of Senior Software Engineer, you will report to the Engineering Manager, AndroidTV.

We are considering applicants for the location(s) of Remote in CA or NY.

About You

• You are passionate to develop complex, consumer-facing video streaming applications for Android mobile, Android TV, and Fire TV
• You have knowledge of architectural design principles
• You stay current on techniques, tools, and ecosystem, especially as it relates to Android   
• You have a minimum 2 years of development experience on Android with Java/Kotlin
• You have experience building applications using Jetpack libraries
• You have familiarity and working experience with Agile development methodologies
• You are able to design and create major software components and provide technical leadership for developers
• You quickly learn and apply new technologies
• You have excellent communication and creative problem-solving skills
• You are familiar with common CI/CD practices and GIT workflows
• You are committed to producing quality code and documentation

About the Team

The Android team is responsible for building and maintaining our Crunchyroll apps for Android, Android TV, and Fire TV. Our goal is to produce a robust application that delivers content that will delight and engage our audiences, partners and internal stakeholders. We embody Crunchyroll’s collaborative spirit, and work closely with various internal teams to engineer scalable solutions that can be shared across all client platforms.
