About the job

This position is needed to grow and evolve CustomerAI at Twilio Segment. Twilio Segment’s market leading customer data platform (CDP) enables businesses to capture, analyze and act on customer signals in real-time across all channels. Working in tandem with Segment’s ‘golden customer profile,’ generative and predictive AI will streamline ideation and execution of campaigns while curating high-quality, bespoke experiences..

In this role, you will be building 0 to 1 products with fast iteration cycles working cross-functionally with backend engineers, ml engineers, product managers and designers to align on scope and design.

You will need to understand and articulate the trade-offs between new functionality and stability. You will need to persuade all involved to make the right architectural and design choices for the long term technical and financial health of the product.

Responsibilities

In this role, you will:

  • Build out new functionality within a fast moving product seeing rapid adoption
  • Guide a team of engineers through difficult architectural trade-offs
  • Generate detailed design documents and action plans for features slated for development
  • Mentor engineers earlier in career on technical matters great and small
  • Lead strategic technical initiatives that impact the entire engineering organization
  • Rapidly acquire new technical skills and knowledge in a fast-paced, high-delivery environment
  • Manage your work through the use of Github, Jira, and our build/deploy systems

Required:

  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in building public-facing web applications.
  • Experience with Docker or similar containerization technologies.
  • Proficiency in Go programming language and tools.
  • Experience in building cloud-based services using AWS, GCP, or Azure.
  • Understanding and practical experience with Terraform or similar Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools.
  • Hands-on experience in designing public-facing APIs.
  • Familiarity with relational databases such as PostgreSQL and MySQL.
  • Knowledge and experience in using CI/CD tools.
  • Strong communication skills and highly effective collaborator who works well with teammates.

Desired:

  • Prior experience working with RPC (Remote Procedure Call) protocol.
  • Experience in building backend services on Kubernetes platform.
  • Experience in scripting languages like bash and Python.
  • Experience in workflow orchestration tools, like Cadence or Conductor.

Location

This role will be located in our India working remotely. 

Travel
