Software Engineer (Python), Lineage
- You will be a member of a team whose purpose is to implement automated Lineage scanners and present the result via interactive Lineage diagrams
- Your role will specifically aim to obtain lineage from ETL tools
- Your work will have a massive impact as we replace manual Lineage by an automated reverse engineering process
- Motto of the Lineage team is “We need 10 minutes to document 10 years of your development”
- Analyzing data sources and working with Product team to define lineage scanner scope
- Implementing algorithms and complex logic to extract lineage from sources like API outputs, XML files and others.
- Delivering a quality code while applying good and clean code principles
- Optimizing performance and participating in architectural design
- Troubleshooting complex lineage processing pipelines
- Cooperation with internal and external stakeholders and teams to create a well integrated and customer-friendly product
- Experience in Python and great motivation to have it as your primary programming language
- Experience with Kotlin or Scala as a strong plus
- Previous with BI products as a strong plus
- An agile mindset and like to work in scrum/kanban environments
- A bachelor’s degree or equivalent related working experience is required
- Passionate about reverse engineering and explorative programming
- Disciplined, flexible, and willing to learn and improve
- A team player with great communication skills in English (written and verbal)
- Able to work independently and as part of an engineering and product organization, influencing and learning from others
- Within your first month, you will get to know the team, the product and familiarize with general Collibra offering and ways of working
- Within your third month, you will understand the technical details of scanner implementation and the team’s product strategy. You should be already positioned to work with a limited level of support from your colleagues and team
- Within your sixth month, you will be a fully self-sufficient engineer able to take on technical initiatives. You should also be in full understanding of the ways of working and identify possible gaps and improvements to improve the team efficiency
