Who we are looking for:We are looking for a passionate Software Engineer to join one of our teams who would work on solving complex problems and building highly scalable applications. Your impact will drive efforts to tackle some of the most challenging problems we face as we continue to create a best-in-class shopping experience for our customers.
What you’ll do:- Design and build extensible and scalable services that adhere to domain boundaries, with strong adherence to APIs, clear and enforced data ownership, and well-defined, visible SLIs and SLOs.
- Propose ideas for technical improvements with clearly defined success metrics.
- Successfully launch software that improves a major portion of a product or application.
- Solve difficult technical problems and provide solutions that are testable, maintainable, and efficient.
- Automate and simplify team development, test, and operations processes.
- 3+ years of professional software development experience, including knowledge of object-oriented design principles experience contributing to the system design or architecture (architecture, design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and current systems
- Experience with Java or other OOP language - like C#, along with an interest in transitioning to Java, php (reading/re-writing to Java purposes)
- Proficiency in an asynchronous event streaming platform, message queue, or similar (preferably Kafka)
- Working knowledge of SQL and NoSQL Datastores Expertise in Cloud engineering and working on cloud enablement projects
- Experience in driving engineering and operational excellence best practices
- Solid verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to translate product requirements into working features
