About the job

In this role, you’ll join the Experimentation and Platform Orchestration Teams, which is part of the Customer AI pillar of Twilio Data & Apps. In this role, you’ll contribute to our global, scalable orchestration platform which makes it easy for internal teams to orchestrate complex, long running workflows by creating them as a flow diagram of tasks.You may also contribute to our fledgling Experimentation offering, which will allow our customers to experiment with their Audiences, Journeys, Broadcasts, and other portions of their CDP to understand what choices help them best reach their business goals.

Responsibilities

In this role, you’ll:

  • Build a high scale, fault tolerant Orchestration Platform, and leverage it to deliver Experimentation and Predictive Traits to our customers.
  • Build highly scalable and robust APIs to create experiments, and interact with orchestrated workflows.
  • Build globally available and highly scalable distributed systems
  • Collaborate with teams across the engineering organization to understand and implement a growing set of requirements.
  • Participate in an on-call rotation to support our business-critical infrastructure

Required:

  • 4+ years of experience writing production-grade code in a modern programming language.
  • Experience programming in one or more of the following: Go, Java, or similar languages
  • Strong theoretical fundamentals and hands-on experience designing and implementing highly available and performant fault-tolerant distributed systems.
  • Experience operating large-scale, distributed systems on top of cloud infrastructure such as Amazon Web Services (AWS) or Google Compute Platform (GCP)
  • Deep understanding of architectural patterns of high-scale web applications (e.g., well-designed APIs, high-volume data pipelines, efficient algorithms).
  • A systematic problem-solving approach, coupled with good communication skills, a sense of ownership, and drive
  • Have hands-on experience with container orchestration frameworks (e.g., Kubernetes, EKS, ECS)
  • Experience shipping services (products) following CI/CD development paradigm.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

 

Location 

This role will be remote and based in the U.S.

The estimated pay ranges for this role are as follows:

  • Based in Colorado: $132,000- $165,000.
  • This role may be eligible to participate in Twilio’s equity plan. All roles are eligible for the following benefits: health care insurance, 401(k) retirement account, paid sick time, paid personal time off, paid parental leave.

The successful candidate’s starting salary will be determined based on permissible, non-discriminatory factors such as skills, experience, and geographic location within the state.
