So, are you ready to join the journey?About the roleOur small tech team is growing fast, which means you potentially have a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to join a funded tech startup while there is not much tech yet. The team is developing the platform to run a world-class accommodation operation with the scale and reliability only tech can unleash. As a Software Engineering Team Lead at Bob W, you will be responsible for our small but mighty and tight-knit team of software engineers. You will be responsible for actively driving day-to-day execution, hiring, and onboard team members, ensuring system reliability and availability, prioritizing quality over new features, advocating for sustainable technical decisions, providing constructive feedback, possessing deep technical expertise, conducting performance reviews, and serving as the main point of contact for cross-departmental collaboration.

In this role, you will:

  • Remain hands-on and primarily write code, as our frontend or backend engineers do.
  • Guide team development efforts towards successful delivery together with the Product Manager.
  • Help your team to maintain high standards of quality by establishing good practices and habits.
  • Conduct regular one-on-one meetings and performance reviews, and help team members to set development goals and achieve them.
  • Make sure that development processes in the team work well and remove team barriers.
  • Be responsible for hiring new team members together with the in-house recruitment team.
  • Serve as the main point of contact for other teams and departments.

Our 5-star candidate:

  • Is ready to join an early-stage technology startup to disrupt the hospitality industry with ⚡
  • Has 5+ years of experience in software development, being experienced with backend development (Node.js) or frontend development (React or Vue).
  • Has at least 1+ years of management experience.
  • Leads initiatives, takes ownership and feels passionate about IT.
  • Has previous experience in leading agile teams.
  • Knows their way around and has previous experience hiring team members.
  • Is passionate about mentoring less experienced colleagues.
  • Can communicate clearly.
  • Is an avid supporter of continuous learning.
  • Feels ambitious about taking on more and more responsibility.

Nice to have: 

  • Experience in working at a product-first company.
  • Higher education in STEM fields.
  • Experience working with multiple tech stacks throughout your career or with different fields (e.g. different languages, frameworks, DBs, organizations, CI/CD, devops etc).
  • An entrepreneurial mindset and experience working in startup environments.
  • Inner drive to make customers happy by providing them with the best experience.
