About the Role:

Job Title:  Software Test Automation Engineer

Experience: 5 - 8 years

Reporting to: Engineering Manager

Job Type: Full-Time

The mission for the test automation team is to enable zero-touch testing that tests all the perspectives of our products, by leveraging automation and open source tools. As part of the team, you will be working closely with product owners and customers to understand the requirements and translate those requirements into repeatable, automated tests. You will also lead the effort of improving the overall test coverage by writing test frameworks and test tools for the engineering team. Your responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

What you’ll do: 
  • Set up CI infrastructure and write automated end-to-end test scripts for frontend, API, backend and mobile.
  • Work with developers and product owners to help understand use-cases to ensure features and functionality are working to meet the requirements
  • Write test plans and test cases for manual and automated execution
  • Participate in all aspects of testing, including functional, regression, load and system testing
  • Triage issues coming from customers and help the team reproduce and understand the issues. Verify the fix and have a written communication in a clear and concise manner
  • Manually test the product for areas that are yet to be automated
What you should know:
  • 5-8 years of experience as QA Engineer for web or mobile, with frontend and backend testing experience
  • Strong understanding of QA methodologies, efficient testing strategies, and modern best practices
  • Strong customer focus and obsession with quality
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Familiar with Git version control system
  • Experience with end to end testing frameworks like Cypress, Selenium, Playwright
  • Experience with unit testing libraries like Jest, SuperTest, React-testing-library, or Enzyme
  • Experience with RestAssured or equivalent HTTP client to test API and web services
  • Experience in at least one scripting/programming language. E.g. Python, Javascript / Typescript.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience testing RESTful or GraphQL APIs manually or with automated scripts
  • Experience with major web browser debug consoles such as Firefox, IE, and Chrome and Mobile platforms iOS and Android testing experience
  • Excellent understanding of software development lifecycle
  • Great eye for usability and detailed oriented
  • Knowledge of Postman to run API requests
  • Extensive experience in Appium, is a plus.
  • Experience testing firmware and embedded systems with Python or manually is a plus.
