We’re looking for Solar Installers to help us shape our Solar PV offering. You’ll play a direct role in helping our customers reduce their carbon footprint and save money - all whilst delivering an exceptional customer experience.

This role in a nutshell:

We’re  looking to recruit a Solar PV Roofer/Installer to join our newly founded delivery team in Dorset. The ideal candidate will have previous Solar PV installation experience or transferable skills from an adjacent industry, such as roofing, conservatory or general building. The successful candidate must be comfortable working at heights and be able to carry and lift panels. A company van for company use is provided and you will be working within a team of 3.

Your key outcomes will be:

• Carrying out Solar PV roofing installs to the highest standards of workmanship.
• A safety first attitude demonstrated at all times.
• A customer focussed approach with an aim to delight.

Within your first 6 months month you’ll:

• Have achieved an excellent customer service score and feedback.
• Carried out many successful quality installations.
• Achieved full compliance to the MCS standards as directed by your line manager.
• Worked safely and been a leader in safety to others in the business.
• Worked closely with the team to improve systems and ways of working.

You’ll be a successful Solar PV Installer here at OVO if you…

• Are an experienced roofer, with demonstrable skills and experience installing PV Panels - in and on roof, 
• Have the know how to work with slate, tile and  to carry out all aspects of traditional roofing including guttering, leadwork, UPVC roofline and flat roofs.
• Are able to set out and plan the PV panel installations on roof tops to match the design requirements.
• Understand and can follow building standards and codes when installing panels and support structures.
• Are able to run DC cables to agreed points of access for electricians to complete.
• Liaise with the team lead to plan what equipment, tools, parts and programme/time information is needed for the project's solar PV installation.
• Are able to work across on a mixture of projects, mainly domestic properties ranging in size.
• Liaise with other contractors including scaffolding providers and electricians to ensure the installation is completed professionally and to plan.
• Ensure the project manager and other key people are kept up to date with the installation progress and issues.
• Know when to escalate issues to the project manager/surveyor or higher management...
• Have a full UK driving license - you will be required to travel in and around Bournemouth and the surrounding counties.
